Purpose: Carrickfergus Grammar School Trust (CGS Trust) will provide financial support to promote and increase individual and collective knowledge. This support will include the provision of appropriate resources for the advancement of education and the support of learning outside the classroom environment. The benefit will be to the individual in gaining increased knowledge in a specific area of study, vocational training or competence. In the support of teaching staff who will gain increased knowledge and competence the benefit will be to the whole school. The encouragement of learning will be of benefit to the general public as individuals contribute to society. Grant making: During the year the trustees awarded a grant totalling £1,500 which was made to benefit a current pupil of the school in line with the grant-making policy. Financial summary: At the start of the financial year, CGS Trust held £14,465 in bank agcounts. During the year the Trust incurred bank charges of £30 and earned interest of £93 and dividends of £347. At 31 March 2024, the Trust held £13,375 in bank accounts and the investment in Northern Ireland Central Investment for Charities was valued at £12,325.
