benefit of the local comrnunity. Omagh Voluttteer Centre works to promo¢¢. support and develop volunteering across
Omagh.
activities include registering volunteers 2nd mat¢hiT)g them to volunteering roles. PTomoting and developing
opportUDiiies. supporting commullitylvoluntary organisations in all aspe¢t of volunteering practice, volullteer recognktion
and sourcingldeliveriug training.
Omagh Volunteer Centre (OVC) is an umbttlla body for Access Nl and pmcessing stand￿d and enhanced disclosure
checks for registered communitylvoluntary and private or8aw5ations.
The Centre delivers a befriending project for older peopIe, supported by a team of trained volunteers fro￿ acros5 Omagh,
Fern)anagh and Strabane with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund

Achievements and perforniance
During the 23124 year. OVC continued to provide a responsive service to develop and support volunteering across the
Omagb area using a diverse range of methods including ta]ks, promotional stsnds, face to face lljeetings and QDline.
Promotion of volunte￿ing and our services continued with nwketing and social media eampaigns. ptomotional videos,
events and quarterly newsletters. We continue to promote and develop volunteering, representing tbe Centre on the
community and voluntary sector Fonlln for Community planning, Neigbbourhood Renewal partnersbips, FODC
inter-agency fonllty on tbe Management Con)mittees of registered con)muDity groups. The Centre registered 230 new
volunteers 2nd hosted a recognition lunch event for 67 volunteers to celebrate Volunteers Week (June 2023). with over 50
appreciation treat boxes and 305 certificates distributed to support groups with their own recognition activities. The EPIC
recognition award8 was delivered to 157 volunteers duTing the period.
Four "Turn up and Try. volunteering events and four employer supported volunteering events were organised with ongoing
tailored support with good practice. training iDfornTrtion and guidance delivered to 172 registered organisations. 360
Access NI disclosure checks were processed and 92 volunteers availed of courses including Safeguarding, F￿st Aid and
Food Safety funded by the Halifax Foundation.
Year 2 of the parthersbip befriending project "Beyond the Call Project" provided telephone, home and peer group
befrtending activities across Omagh, Femianagh and Strabane, for 300 older people. supported by a team of 60 trained
volunteers.
The Centre continues to receive core fijnding from the Department for Communities (Dfc) for the delivery of the
Volunteering Infrastructure Support Programme (VISP) as well as the National Ix)ttery Conllnunity Fund for the Beyond
the Call Project. Additional funding was PTovided by Dfc for Volunteers, week recognition activities and from the Hallifax
Foundation to deliver certified and accredited trailling
Plans for future periods
Future plans for the Charity include:

with a disability and otheT health conditions aDd ongoing partnerships working with specialist services.
l¥omotion of the EPIC volunteer recognition awards and the Volunteer Friendly programrnes.
Explore funding opporttu)ities to deliver a range of traiFJing courses for regÉstered groups, including Safeguarding. First
Aid and Disability Awareu¢ss.
Exploring new ways to raise the profile and uptake of volunteering across the area.
Continued engagement and collaboration with the Independent Volunteer Centres (Volunteer Centre5 M).
Working in collaboration with Volunteer Centre partners and Dfc on the Refresh of Infrastructure Support PrograMn￿.
Delivery of the Beyond the Call Project, funded by the National Lottery Commurrity Fund with ongoing exploratioll of
mainstream funding for &8sociated services.
Build new and existing partnersbips and relationships with statutory and voluntarylcommunity groups in our local area
in¢Luding WHSCT, Fermanagh On]agb District Council. NIFRS et¢., engaging at every level for the development and
promotion of volunteering good practice througbout the area.

Statement of trustees, responsibilities
The trustees (who also directors of Omagh Volunteer Centre for the purpose of company law) are responsible for
preparing the Trnstees, Annual Report and the fllW]cial statements in aeeordance with applicable law and United Kingdom
Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
Conwany law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each fin8ncAal year which give a true and fair view of
the stale of affairs of the ckwitable company and of the incomitig resources aud application of resources. including the
income and expenditure, of the clwitable cornpany for that period. In pIeparing these finallcial statements. the trusffts are
required to:
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
observe the methods and principles in the Clwities SORP.
make judgements and estimates that are Te&souable and prudent:
state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, subj¢¢t to any material departures disclosed
and explained Én the financial statements. and
prepare the financial statements on the golng concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charitable
company will ¢QDtinue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time
the financial positton of the cljaritable company and which enable tbeEn to ensure that the financial statements comply
with the Companies Act 2006. They are also r¢spoDSÉble for safeguarding the assets of the charitable cornpany and hence
for taking reasonable steps for the pttvention and detection of fraud and other irr¢gulaTities.
The trustees have complied with the duty to have regard to the guidance issued by the Commission under section 4(b) 'of
the Ch￿ltieS Act (the publi¢ benefit requirement statutory gutdan¢e)
