Achievements and perforniance
During the 22123year, OVC continued to provide a responsive service to develop and support volunteering across the
Omagh area using a div￿5¢ ronge of nwthods i￿lUding tallis, proU￿tiOnal stsnds. face to face n￿etings, and online.
Pmmotion of volunteering and our services Conlinued with marketing and social media campaigns, promotional videos,
events, and quarterly newsletters. We continue to pIomote and develop volunteerillg, repi&8enting the Centre oll
Community PlaDning. Neighbourhood RenewaL partnerships, on the Management Conmnittees of registered coll￿￿￿￿ty
groups. The Centre registered 225 new volunteers and hosted an appre£Aation lunch event for 40 volunteers as part of
Volunteers Week in June 2022, with 150 appwiation boxes and 200 certificaks coordinated to support gtOUPS WAth their
own recognition activities.
Six 'Turn up and Try. volunteering events were organised with ongoing tailored 8UPPOrt with good practicq training
infornjation and guidance delivered to 89 regISte￿d voluutary and community groups.
Building upon the 8ucce8sfui delivery of the B-Friend Hub befriending project for older people across Omagh. Fennanagh
and Straban4 OVC made another successfijl application to the National IAyttery Community Fund. for a new follow up
project and in August 2022. were awarded £455,851.76 for the "Beyond the Call" project to provide telephone. home and
peer group befriending activities for 300 older people. supported by a team of 60 trained volunteer, for a further 3 year
period.
Th¢ Centre conttnues to receive core fimding from the Departtnent for Commw)ities (Dfc) for the de]ivcry of the
Volunteering Infrastructure Support Piogramrne (VISP) as well as the National Lottery Community Fund foi the Beyond
the call project. Additional funding was provided by DFC for Volunte￿8 week rw)gDition activities and from the Hallifax
Foundation to deliver certified and aC￿edAted training.
Plans for future perlods
Future plans for the Charity include:
Increasing the number and diversity of people who register to volunteer.
Increasing the numb¢r of comrnutllty and voluntary groups ￿gIStered to avail of our range of services.
Continued support to the n)inority etlu)i¢ and refugee commllDity, disabl￿ty pIoje¢ts including the NOW Group and
partsiership working with speci8]ist services including the Cedar Foundation and Disability action.
Piomotion of the EPIC volunteer Tecognition awards ptogramme in partnership with the independent volunteer centres.
Continued engagement and collaboration with the Jndependent Volunteer Centres (Volunteei Centres NI), including the
Dormant account application.
Delivery of the Beyond the Call projecL fllt￿ed by the National Lottery Conm[￿nity thnd with on80ing exploration of
mainstream ￿ndIllg for associated 8erYices.
Build new and existing partDerships and r¢iationships with statutory and voluntarylcommunity gmups in our lo¢al area
including wHS￿, F¢nnanagb Omagh District Council. NIFRS etc., engaging at every level for the development and
promotion of volunteeiing.
De]ivery of tailored traiDing for groups and voluntecrs. fiinded by the Hallifax Foundation.
Actively parti¢ipatc in the Review of Infrastructur¢ prograrn￿ (RISP), a review of infrastructure support across NI. led
by DFC.

Statement of trustees, responsibililjes
The trust￿ (who are also directors of Omagh Volunteer Centre for the pu￿08¢ of company law) are responsible for
preparing the Trnstea8' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom
Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
ComparAy law iequires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year wbich give a true and fair view of
the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incon]ing resources and application of resources. including the
income and expenditure. of the charitable company for that period. In preparing these financial 5tatom¢nts, the truste¢s are
requir￿1 to:
select suitable accounting pojicies and then apply them consistently;
observe the methods and priJ]ciples in the Charities SORP.
mak¢ jlldgen￿llts and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
State whether applicable UK Accounting Standard8 have been followed, subject to any ma￿1&1 departures disclosed
and explained in the financial ststements. and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charitable
company will continue in operatio
The tru8tee$ re8ponsibl¢ for keeping propcr accounting records wbich disclose with re&8onable accuracy at 8ny time
the finaDcial position of the chaTitable company and which enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply
with the Companies Act 2006. They also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and bence
for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other i￿egul￿Atie8.
The trustees have complied with the duty to have regard to the guidajice issued by the Commission under section 4(b) 'of
the Charities Act (the public benefit requirement statutory guidance)
Small company provisions
Thi8 report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions for small ¢ompanie8 under Companies Act 2006.
