**Purposes:** OBJECT 2.1 The object of the Association shall be:  (i) to promote the benefit and equality of opportunity to the residents of Merville Garden Village without distinction between persons of different religious belief, political opinion, racial group, age, marital status or sexual orientation; between men and women generally; between persons with a disability and persons without; and between persons with dependants and persons without; and to assist local authorities, voluntary organisations and residents in a common effort to advance respect, mutual understanding and education; and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation, and leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said residents;
