TRUSTEES, ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE E D FORBES CHARITABLE TRUST FUND FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2023 NORTHERN IRELAND CHIIRITY NUMBER- 101792 The Trustees of the Charity who served during the year and still hold office are: Mr Anthony Forbes Mrs Margaret Forbes Mrs Suzanne Bennett Mrs Julie Forbes Miss Patricia Forbes The Trustees, Annual Report relates to activities carried on by the Charity from l January 2019 to 31 December 2023, as governed by it's Trust Deed dated 8 May 2008. The principal address of the Charity is CIO Wm. Sprott (Portadown) Ltd, Edward StreeL Portadown, Co. Armagh, BT62 3NB. The Purpose of the Charity The Charity exists to provide financial support to other Charities and Community Groups. Those organisations helped are within the voluntary and community sectors. The Trustees oversee funds held in two Bank Accounts which earn interest each year. The Trustees meet annlially to agree upon which organisations are in need of financial support. A list of those organisations supported during the year are attached with the Accounts. The Public Benefits derived from the Charity's Purposes In pursuing the purposes of the Charity, the Trustees have given due consideration to the public benefit guidance provided by the Commission. The Charity Accounts provide details of the organisations supported during the year. Those receiving financial support help beneficiaries in the United Kingdom in the areas of poverty relief, health. education and the advancement of the Christian Faith. The effects of these Charities are widely felt among the communities they reach out to. The Charities supported are well known within the community and websites and literature provided are evidence of the positive effect they have. Financial Review of the Charity The Accounts of the Charity as at 31 December 2023 show that its finances are in a strong position to continue providing financial support in line with its purposes in the future. INDEPENDENT EXAMtNER'S REPORT TO THE CHARITY TRUSTEES OF E D li FORBES CHAIUTABLE TRUST FufqD I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31 December 2023 which are set out on pages 5 to 7. RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBLITIES OF CHARrrY TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the commission under section 65(9)(b) of the Charities Act state whether particular matters have come to my attention. BASIS OF INDEPENDENf EXAMINER'S REPORT li I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65 (9)(b} of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning any such matters. My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe: l. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records. 3. That the accounts do not Comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. Page 3
