## **Report of the Trustees of RSD PFTA** 

The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year 1[st] October 2024 to 30[th] September 2025. 

Trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance. 

## **Organisational Structure** 

Royal School Dungannon Parents, Friends and Teachers Association (RSD PFTA) is a charity which is administered by a committee of trustees elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and is governed by its constitution. 

PFTA members are made up from parent and teacher representatives who meet regularly during term time to discuss matters relating to our core objectives.

The RSD PFTA is registered with the Charities Commission for Northern Ireland and is required by law to submit its Annual Report & Accounts to the Commission each year. 

The accounts for the year ending September 2025 have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis and independently examined, in line with the requirements of The Charities (Accounts and reports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015. 

## **Purpose and Objective** 

The RSD PFTA is a group of dedicated parents, teachers and friends who work alongside the school to provide additional resources to support staff and pupils by developing affective relationships within the school engaging in activities and providing facilities or equipment which supports the school and advance the education of pupils.

## **Autumn Term 2024** 

YR8 Welcome Evenings – a couple of volunteers used this as a means to introduce PFTA to our new parents and get some new recruits. 

Teacher / Pupil quiz.  Everyone had a fun night, but the numbers were very low.  We agreed to rethink for next year. 

Wine and Cheese night was a great success.  Everyone put a lot of effort into the organisation and had a lovely evening.  We decided we would do it ourselves next year to make it more of a fundraiser. 

## **Spring Term 2025** 

The Rugby Club Quiz.  It was such a fun night, as usual, and a good fund raiser. 

## **Summer Term 2025** 

Sports Day, we provided the Tuck Shop and there was a lot of support from the committee.  We also helped out with the Uniform Recycling Initiative which was very popular. 

We organised our PFTA Fun Day, and it was very successful.  Everyone seemed to have a really good afternoon.  We had lots of helpers from the PFTA. 

## **Autumn 2025** 

Just before the start of the new school year, we were able to welcome our new Year 8 students and their families at the Hot Dog Lunch.  It was such an enjoyable afternoon, and a great way to introduce the new pupils and their families to the school. 

## **Donations** 

The following donations were made by the PFTA in the last year: 

Girls Football Kit - £400 

RSD Boarding cup engraving - £65 

Junior SU Speakers - £160 

Geography clipboards - £130 

Charities Committee Hot drinks dispenser - £200 

Total: £955 

This concludes the report for the academic year.  It only remains to thank all those who have helped out in any way during the year. Thanks to the Headmaster and teachers who have supported us also.

## **Independent examiner’s report to the charity trustees of RSD PFTA** 

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30[th] September 2025, which are set out on the Receipts and payments accounts on pages 7 and 8. 

## **Respective responsibilities of charity trustees and examiner** 

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. 

It is my responsibility to: 

- Examine the accounts under section 65 of the Charities Act 

- Follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Commission under section 65 (9)(b) of the Charities Act 

- State whether particular matters have come to my attention. 

## Basis of independent examiner’s report: 

I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65 (9)(b) of the Charities Act. 

My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.  It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees concerning such matters. 

My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to believe: 

1. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 63 of the Charities Act 

2. That the accounts do not accord with those accounting records 

3. That the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act 

4. That there is further information needed for a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. 

## **Independent Examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination and have no concerns in respect of the matters (1) to (4) listed above and, in connection with the following Directions of the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, I have found no matters that require drawing to your attention.

The charity trustees are not remunerated for their services to the charity.  Where trustees incur expenditure on behalf of the charity these are reimbursed at cost.

The charity trustees are not paid expenses.  Where the trustee purchase goods for fundraising activities out of their own funds these are reimbursed at cost.
