## **Details of the charity** 

Parents and Friends of Sandelford School 4 rugby avenue, Coleraine, BT52 1JL 

Parents and Friends of Sandelford school have their own constitution which was modelled on the Parentkind UK model constitution.  A copy is reviewed each year at the AGM along with a code of conduct and good practice guidelines. 

## **Aims** 

The aims of the Association are: - 

- To provide opportunities for parents and friends to meet each other. 

- To assist the school by raising funds for the benefit of the pupils. 

- To provide opportunities for members of the Association to attend meetings to which speakers may be invited to talk on subjects of interest. 

The committee meets termly or as required in order to fulfil the aims of the association as set out above.  (Five members shall constitute a quorum) **Public benefit outcomes of the charity** Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes funding for additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This is demonstrated through having an active PFA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils in the school The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational 



progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. 

This is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. 

## **’ s Summary of Charity** 

- **Main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit** 

   - **Main achievements last year** 

The charity held a number of events in the past year to raise funds and this included; 

- Christmas Fete – Held on Tuesday 29[th] November 2022 from 6pm-8pm in Sandelford School.         Money raised - £1218.45 

- Christmas Card Project 2022 – Young people were provided with the opportunity to design their own Christmas card through Sandelford School.  Their parents/guardians could purchase their design and order Christmas cards or other merchandise.      Money raised - £415.95 

- Danceathon was held in the summer term 2023 and this was a fantastic fundraising opportunity.   The total raised was £7880.33 

**Opportunities where given for improved relationships between home and school** 

This happened through PFA meetings and the Christmas fete provided a great opportunity for parents that otherwise would not get the chance to meet to get together in an informal way. 

The PFA had a stall at ‘Pathways’. It provided families with the opportunity to explore future choices for their young person. 



## **Money provided** 

## • **Creative Activity - £4782** 

This was provided to help develop sensory experiences for young people at Sandelford School. 

## • **Selection Boxes - £423.54** 

Money was provided to Sandelford School to assist with a Santa experience for young people at the school. 

## • **Easter Eggs - £264** 

This funding was given to the school to provide an Easter treat /sensory experience. 

## • **Leavers Hoodies -£230** 

Hoodies were presented to all school leavers from Sandelford last year. 

## **Other** 

**Christmas Card project –** Money was collected from Parents and a Fundraising company was paid to print the cards.  £1900 paid for the cards and they cost £1484.05 Money raised through this project was £415.95
