St Therese of Lisieux PTA Annual Report 2022/23
Thanks to the commitment of all the PTA members and volunteers this was another successful year for St Therese of Lisieux PTA, as we were able to reintroduce an event at Halloween disco that had sadly been missed for a few years due to Covid 19 restrictions. This was an event welcomed by all and managed to raise over £1500 after expenses. The break the rules day was again successful and continues to remain a favourite buy the pupils and raised £1748. Arlene our Treasurer again manged to successfully secure a grant from Tesco of £1000 again to be used for the garden space in the school. Including £170 in donations from parents this brought out total income for the year to £4737. At the beginning of the year we had a very healthy balance of just over £18, 000 however this still included the £10,000 garden grant which was spent on improving the outside space.
The PTA were able to provide refreshments for the Holy Communion for the pupils and their guests which was a welcome return following the previous restrictions on gatherings, and it was nice to see everyone back together. Communion expenses cam to £280 and Confirmation expenses totalled £102
Out largest spend in a number of years was the improvement of the garden space and with the two grants secured for a combined total of £11,000 the total cost was £11057.
The PTA also provided much needed PE equipment for the school at a cost of £1181
The cost to put on the much loved Halloween disco was £272, however it seems to be worth every penny and both the volunteers and the children seem to really enjoy this event.
Again the PTA spent £146 on the primary seven leavers disco, another more intimate and well received event held in school.
Bank charges this year were £73, and the closing balance of unrestricted funds was £9687
