Throughoui 2023 the number of schools parts"apabn9 In the La Salle P&storal Centre continued the steady
increase back to pre£oMd numbers. The value of these acts"vrts"es is evtdenced by POSTbve feedback from
paTb"cipants. The relationships formed among teachers, students. and the past(Y81 care framework aro a$ vrtal lo
$haping a schod's ethos as the fornial currithum or the skills of the educators.
The primary benefioaries of Ihe De La Salle Pastoral Centre are sbjdgnts in local schods in the Belfast. as well
as the wider community, who use the pastoral facilrtt'es.
Through the In$tibJt8's intéma￿na[ connectio￿. tsa¢h•rs and pa$toral staff at the two scho¢4s, and tho pastoral
ntre in Belfast benefit from a variety of formation and trairring programmes amed at their ongoing personal,
profEssional and spiritud develo￿lIent.

Tho Cha￿01nCY programme is a jc4nt In￿atiVe bO￿A the Pa$tOTal Centre, three kxal priasts and stsff members
in 8¢hools. The School chaplaincy Pfogramme was initiated in De La Salle College, Belfast and then extended to
three other schools. The idea is to support a small group of teact*rs to act as chaplains within their own schools.

Vincont do Paul group weekly throughoLrt the year. An Art Therapy Group was ￿s0 occasionally hosted there.

The De La Salle Tfustees arKI Dictesan response lo the Department of Education poli￿0S and Governmgnt
requiramant for Ar•&bas¢d Planning is an all abiltty c1￿ucatiOnal 11-19 school. This new school is deS￿nated
voluntary Grammar schod offering pathways to a ojrriojlum academi¢ and vocational choices. This one
¥chod model will m￿MIse and ensure the accessikn.lity of tsgh qualty V levd Lasallian Cathdic education in
Downpatrick into the future. Trustees have successfvmy ensured the appointment of highty competent and widely
respected members of the community as ind•p8ndont Memb￿ on tho Intorwn Board of Govwnors (IBOGI of the
proposed new school.
The process has teen evolutionary.. Principals, Boards of Govemments and Trustees have been working on this
since 2012.The inaugural meeb.ng of the Int￿rn Board of Gov8mors Mgetsng of the New School In DownpatrKk
took place on 1W January 2023. 0￿r the ¢our5e of the subsequent monthty m•eting$ of th& 18OG, an
imP￿mentall0n plan was agreed to ensure lh• Suc￿$sft￿ and ts.mety fvlfiknent of the various steps and actions
required lo ensure the opening of the new school by Septembgf 2024. During this peris)J, rt was agreed, following
consultation with representalive groups of students, parents and staff from thg three Schools in¥ofved, that the
name of the new school would be LeCa￿ Trinty Grammar School. This new educational instrtution will build on the
Icffjg ostablished and great educalional tradibon of the Mercy armd De La Sab Congregations.

The Institut• of the Brothets of the Christian Schools (in Northem Ireland) knmited haNE been involved with the
Hisloricd Institirtion Abuse irquiry IHIAI Sin￿ 2012 and supplied HIA *fjth all its needs in relation to legd matters.
In 2014 and in 2015 mernber5 of the Ccfflpany attoTrJed the HIA Inquiry, made statements and gavg oral evidence
