IRISH CONGREGATIONAL ORPHAN SOCIETY TRUSTEE5 REPORT TO THE CHARITY COMM15510N NORTHERN IRELAND YEAR ENDED 31 JANUARY 2019 CHARITY REGISTRATION NIC 101719 The trustees present their Annual Report in accordance with the regulations required by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland. The Society is governed by a Constitution dated 4 March 2016 Charitable Purpose The Society provides limited monetary grants to the parent or guardian of orphans to aid in the maintenance and education of the orphanlsl. No orphan was in receipt of a grant during ihe year. Finonciol Review There was a decrease in receipts for the year from £1.195 to £820 but wilh no payments to orphans assets rose from £63,857 to £65.287. Administrative Delails The committee maintained responsibility throu8hout the year for the administration of funds and distribution of Grants to orphans nominated by the churches that are members of the Congregational Union of Ireland. The Trustees of the Society during the year to 31 January 2019 were as follows.. FT Neill Tulloch Treasurer Thomas Boyle Hilda EV Johnston Jeanette G Tulloch Paula Johnston Public Benefit The Society continued to help identify orphan children, one or both of whose parents have been members or adherents of a Congregational Church in Ireland, and who would benefit from a maintenance and education grant. Such children will benefit from the use of the grantlsl provided to advance their education and reduce their chances of falling into poverty. This benefit would be monitored by the minister of the church nominating the orphans as beneficiaries of the grants.

There is no anticipated harm in the provision of the grants. The beneficiaries are children where one or more of their parents have died and were members or adherents of a Congregational Church in Ireland. There is no private benefit involved in the scheme. Future The tru5tee5 will continue to care for the funds of the Orphan Society and will consider nominations for grants from the churches of the Congregational Union of Ireland.
