## **ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING TUESDAY  3[rd] MAY 2022** 

## **CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT 2020-2021** 

**It is more than two years since we last met. That was on 2[nd] March 2020 when we had our 25[th] AGM.** 

**On behalf of the committee may I say how good it is to see so many here and to meet up again.** 

**Just a few days after that meeting all went into lockdown with COVID19.  As a result Volunteers  ceased to come to the hospital to meet and greet patients and visitors. The service has not resumed.** 

**Committee members  did not meet again in 2020.** 

**It was not until 19[th] October 2021 that committee members came together to consider the possibility of arranging a meeting with volunteers prior to Christmas. The date chosen was 11[th] December 2021. Unfortunately given the COVID situation at that time the members decided, when they  met again, on 16[th] November,  to put on hold a meeting until 2022** 

**Committee have met with Donald McWhirter to consider when or if Welcomers will return to the foyer in Antrim Area Hospital.** 

**Given the uncertainties of COVID regulations and guidance, committee decided to hold the AGM in Massereene Golf Club rather than in Fern House or the Marquee at Antrim Area Hospital.** 

**I should again wish to thank you for coming and I very much hope that we do not have to wait two more years for our next AGM** .
