Trustees Report

Governing Document and Purposes Type of governing document: Trust Deed

Date governing document was adopted: 28 November 2014.

Purposes

The objects of the Trust are the advancement of the Christian Religion and other charitable purposes.

Public Benefit

Our overall aim is the spiritual, intellectual, psychological and physical wellbeing of the community in general. We hold a weekly Sunday public meeting involving worship, praise, bible teaching, prayer followed by refreshments and a time to socialise. We provide teaching activities for the children and provide créche facilities for toddlers. We hold midweek public meetings where we explore in workshop forums, of a modular type, various aspects of the Christian faith e.g. contemplative prayer, worship and the development of everyday living faith. On Fridays we provide a Singing and Drama workshop with an average of 15 children in the class with an age range between 4 and 8. We encourage the children to reach their full creative potential by employing a variety of drama games and dramatic techniques. The session is fully inclusive and we have children with varied special needs within our regular classes.

Drama has many proven benefits and we have found that our children have seen improvements in their confidence, concentration and creativity: skills which are fully transferable into their everyday life. Furthermore, as the children are encouraged to work together as a team this in turn fosters strong friendships.

We run a local women's group. The course is based around empowerment giving strategies to overcome fears, encouraging and releasing people to step into areas of aspirational interests in their personal lives.

We provide on-going pastoral care and guidance for the church community. We run a men’s group involving fellowship and bible study.

Coracle Christian Community runs a youth and toddler’s program throughout the year on Sundays. There are two groups of volunteers who work with children for approximately one hour. We provide a créche facility for toddlers between the ages of 2 — 4 years.

Volunteers engage toddlers in structured play with the use of various toys, books, music and a small meal is prepared.

We also work with children and youth between the ages 5 —12 years, providing themed projects with craft activities, games, drama, cookery, artwork and structured play. Volunteers also supervise children on short excursions to nearby public parks, cinemas and museums.
