The directors. who are the trustees for the purpose of charity law. have pleasure in presenting their
report and the ynaudiled financial statements of the charitable company for the year ended 30
September 2019.
The financial statements comply with the Charities Regulalions INorthem Ireland) 2015, the
Companies Act 2006, the Mernorandum and Arb"cles of Association, and Accounting and Reporting
by Charilies.. Slalement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts
in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
FRS 1021 (effective 1 January 20151.

Objectives
Drumduff and Drurnnakilly Community Association endeavours lo achieve long term social and
eeonomic improvements for the whole community by a process ol planning, creativity and action.
The charitable company's beneficiaries are people in the Fermanagh & Omagh District Council
area. The only private benefit flowng from this purpose is Ihal a Iruslee will gain skills and
knowledge through our edvcalK)n programme. Through this trustees gain skills which are
transferable lo other sellings. These beneffts are incidenlal and necessary lo ensure the benefit is
provided lo our beneficiaries.
The objectives of the charitable company are as follows..
To advance education." The direct benefiis which flow from this puwe include an increase in
knowledge and skills of the inhabitsnts of our immediale and wder area Ihus enhancing their
employability and promotion prospects. Other benefils ftowing from this purpose are increased
confidence, social inleraclion and sense of achievement. These benefits will be evidenced by
feedback through the completion of evaluation fom15 by users and through observation and
face-lo-face conlacl,.
Preserve and protect health.. The direct benefits which flow from this purpose include a greater
awareness of personal health and wellbeing and techniques lo achieve this, leading lo improved
physical and mental wellbeing and increased self-esteem. These benefits will be evidenced by
feedback from users through evaluations. face-lo-faee eontact and their interest in getting
involved in future health related aclivilies-, and
Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure lime
occupations.. The direct benefits which flow ffom this purpose include opportunities for social
inleraclion with peer and inlergeneralional groups and engagemenl in recreational and leisure
activities which enrich the lives of inhabitants in this rural area. The public can hire the
premises for their own acliv¢ties which 15 a resource for them. These benefits will be evidenced
by face-to-face contact with parb"cipanls and their interest in further events and activities
organised within our cenlre.

identified needs of the community including..
A weekly Parent and Toddler group for babies, toddlers and their parents;
Weekly Youth Club lo caler for children in the 5-18 year old group.,
Fortnighlly Senior Citriens Group for a range of crafts. information and advice on health and
other matters.,
Training courses lo enhance employability and promotion prospects e.g..
courses 10 5uII different abilities, Food Hygiene and First Aid.,
Recreational courses including Flower Arranging. Painting. Gardening. Mixed Crafts and
Dancing.,
Offer Health and Fitness related activities including Yoga, Keep Fil, Circuit Trainlng, Zumba,.
Organise social events al Easter. Halloween and Christmas as well as an annual festival which
allow members of the local community and beyond lo come together in a social selling and
participate in a variety of inlergeneralional events..
Hire out charilable company's premises lo community members for a range of events and the
income get)eraled is feinvesled in the running of our organi5alion and ils programmes.,

Environmental Trail lo study and enjoy the wldlife of the area.

The Directors of Drurnduff and Orumnakilty Community Association confirms that they have
complied with their duties under seclion 4161 ol the Charities Acl (Northern Ifelandl 2008 to have
regard lo the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit and that the
public benefit requifemenl has informed the activities of the ¢haritable company in the year ended
30 September 2019.

The Directors are ¢onfidenl Ihat the charitsble company continues to meet ils performance
objeclives lo benefit the local ¢ommunity. The charitable company continues lo receive funding
from local bodies and rnn everbls through the course of the year.

The company is a chaiilable organisation. The results for Ihe year are sel out in detail on page 10
10 16. The charitable company retumed nel outgoing resources for the year of £23.474 {2018 - nel
outgoing resources of £21,059).
AI 30 Seplernber 2019. the lotsl funds of the charitable company amounted lo £296,221 {2018
£319.695) comprising reslricled funds of £253,714 ano unre51ricted funds of £42.507. Principal
sources of funding and how Ihis has supported the key objectives of the charitable company are
disclosed in the note5 to the financial statements.
Reserves Pollcy
While funding for the charity's ¢ore activities is secured until 2020, the charity needs lo establish a
reserves policy lo have sufficient cash reserves should Ihe company experience cash flow problems
or costs involved in any potential wind up ol the company.

It is recommended that reserves equivalent to tsvelve months. running costs for core activities
together with anticipated improvements lo fixed assets be retained. The largel sel and realised for
this in the current year is £20,300. The level of reserve5 are reviewed by the direelors and
management regularly throughout the year. The minimum level of reserves for the ongoing needs of
the charity is reviewed by the Iruslees on annual basis.

Drumduff & Drumnakilly Community Association is a ¢ompany limited by guarantee with charitable
status, incorporated on the 1st October 2001 and registered as a charity in Northem Ireland in 2015.
The company was established ¥Jnder Memorandum ol Association that established the objects and
powers of the charitable company and is goveined under ils Article5 of Associab"on. In the event ol
the winding LSP of the company each member is required lo conlribute no more than £1.
The Iruslees of the charity when elected serve until the next annual genefal meeting al which they
must be re-elected.
The management operate a system of inlemal Control designed lo provide reasonable 8ssuran¢e,
but not ab501ule assurance against material misstatement or1055. They include the.'-
regular consideration by the Iruslees of progress reports regarding operational aclivilies. These
are carried out detailing perforniance indicator levels such as participant numbers and financial
breakdowns.

In accordance with the Articles of Association. the members to retire by rotation shall be those who

Taxation status
The chariiable company 15 recognised as a charity by HM Revenue and Customs. Accordingly, the
charitable company has availed of the exemptions contained in Chapter 3 Part 11 Corporatson
Taxe5 Act 2010 and Section 256 Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992.

The directors are responsible lor preparing the annual report and the financial slalements in
accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.

the law the directors have elected lo prepare the financial statements in accordance with applicable
law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice. Under company law the directors
musl not approve the financial statements unless they are sab'sfied that they give a true and fair
view of affairs of the charity and of the surplus or defieil of the charity for that period. In preparing

The direclors are responsible for keeping proper ac¢ounting records that are sufficient lo show and
explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy al any lime the financial
position of the charity and which enable them lo ensure that the financial stslemenls comply with
the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and
hence foi taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
Small company exemption
This report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions in Part 15 of the Comp3nie5 Act
2006 applicable lo companies subject lo the small companies regime.
The directors are of the opinion the company is entslled lo exemption from audit in a¢¢ordance with
section 475121 and section 47513) of the Companies Act 2006.
