FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 SEPTEMBER 2023
The tnjstees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 September 2023.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial slatements and comply with Ihe charity's Igoveming documenll, the Companies Act 2006 and "Accounting
and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practi￿ applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS
102)" leffeclive 1 January 2019).
Objectives and activities
The charity trustees have had due regard to the public benefit guidance published by The Charity Commission for
Northern Ireland. The purpose of Ihe organisation is "lo promote and provide vocational training and retraining lo
employees and individuals wishing to enter employment in engineering, and in particular, constructional slee￿Ork
fabrication in Northem Ireland" The organisation was set up to ensure that the member companies could maintain a
sufficient number of compelent and suilably qualified Constructional Sleelwork Draughling Technicians. The
member companies are therefore the main beneficiaries. The other beneficiaries are the apprentices who are
recruited by Ihe participating employers on to the training scheme. The direct benefits lo Ihose apprenlices include
paid employment, training. to an induslry standard of competency and access to further education classes. These
benefits can be demonstrated or proven through receiving industry recognised qualifications and employment. No
fees are charged are charged lo participating employers or apprentices.
The trustees have paid due regard lo guidan￿ issued The Charity Commission for Northem Ireland in deciding
what activities the charity should undertake.
Achievements and perforniance
There has been no activity by the charity in the current year but the objectives remain the same.. to promote and
provide vocalional education and Iraining in the engineering sector.
Financial review
The charity holds £41,715 in net current assets for future promotion of training and educational courses.
It is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al a level equivalent to belween three and six month's expendilure. The trustees consider Ihal reseNes
at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in fijnding, they will be able to continue the charity's
current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional fijnds may be raised. This level of reserves
has been maintained throughout the year.
Slructure, governance and management
The company was incorporated in September 2004 and is a company limited by guarantee. The Directors are
appointed al the AGM by Ihe members present and are eligible for re-election. The Directors also have the power at
any time to appoint any person to be a Director lo fill a vacancy or as an addition to the existing Directors.
The trustees, who are also Ihe directors for the purpose of company law. and who served during iheyear and up to
the date of signature of the financial statements were:

None of the trustees has any beneficial interest in the company. Al of the trustees are members of the company and
guarantee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.
