Trustees report for the year ended 31/3/2023
The Charity has the following purposes:

Improving the quality of life and social welfare of Chinese Mandarin speaking people by providing services its members needed and also organising social events, trainings, educational seminars and classes.

Promoting good relations and mutual understandings between Mandarin

Speakers and local communities by organising cultural events.

Raising awareness of social needs and difficulties of Mandarin Chinese community encountered to the statutory bodies and government agencies.

• Raising awareness of the history, folklore and cultural heritage of Mandarin speaking people for the benefit of the general public.

Help its members develop their capabilities to integrate into broader society.

Reducing the inequality in access to the social services by flagging out and referring to difference social services available.
The Trustees served in the year are L Wu, Y Zhou and X Ding. The trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance.
The charity regularly organises Chinese Culture Day in the autumn, meet ups and has its principal address is in Northern Ireland. In the past financial year, our charity (Derry site) organised a Chinese New Year celebration and provided Chinese cultural workshops to young people and the elderly. Over one thousand hours of Chinese classes were delivered online. Hundreds of local and Chinese children have benefited from it, including those taking GCSE, A level and HSK exams. Science activities and classes have also been organised for young people. English and math classes have been running to help the children become more academic and build confidence in their school studies. The charity has a cash balance of GBP 932.00 as of 31 March 2023. The funds are from the Chinese Language Education Foundation, Community Relationship Council and Derry City Strabane District Council.
