**Trustees’ Annual Report 1[st] Sept 2022 – 31[st] August 2023** 

_**Greysteel Playgroup is a community-based, committee-run playgroup . We are situated in the rural village of Greysteel, Co.Derry and serving the local Area of Greysteel and surrounding areas.**_ 

For the period 2022/2023, The **Trustees** were:

## **AIMS** 

- ●Our Aim is to provide high quality care and education for Pre school children. 

- ●Provide a warm, safe, stimulating environment 

- ●To work in partnership with parents to support children learn  through play based activities 



- ●To offer children & their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity 

We, at Greysteel playgroup, have a primary responsibility for the care, welfare and safety of the young children in our care and the welfare of each child is our paramount consideration and we offer a safe & welcoming environment to children from all backrounds. 

We adhere to the Curriicular Guidance  devised by the Department of Education  NI outlining the range of learning opportunities that children should have through play and other relevant experiences. Therefore we focus on the six areas of learning within the curriculum to promote good practice through a play based curriculum 

_Personal, Social and emotional development_ 

_Language development_ 

_Early maths experience_ 

_Phyical development_ 

_The world around us_ 

_The  Arts._ 

Throughout the year, the management committee and parents continue to supplement our EA funding by raising funds for the playgroup to assist our running costs. In the current financial year, we have 21  Children. 

For the term year, Staff were  Geraldine McGuinness  Playgroup leader,  Nuala Peoples Deputy Leader  & Vonnie Robson Assistant 

The EA awarded the playgroup  21 funded  places for Sept 2022. All places have been filled. 

In addition to the weekly voluntary fee provided by parents, the management committee has organised fundraising events throughout the year for the playgroup:- 

Halloween:-£ 501.50 

Christmas:- £2,026 

Easter;-£788.02 

The AGM took place on 6[th] June 2023 and the new management committee were elected:-
