Tha Junction was founded In March 2000 by a group of community relations and peace building
activlsts in partnership with DeTry City Council, to 8UPPOrt communty relation$ and peace building.
Thè organi5ation was named as Th8 Junclion because of its ambition to be a comprehensive $enilce
provider for peace building work. Fomierly a Peace Building Centre with a Resource Library, The
Junction created a safe and mutually respecting space for groups and organisations to come to
discuss highly sensltive and cont8ntiOU8 issues. The Junction contlnues to build upon it8 sound
foundational work and a Irack record in peace buSlding, with an outreath across Ireland. North arml
South and further afield.

Th• financial year 2022-2023 has been a yaar of tran8ltlon for Thg Junctlon, as Its two core and long-
81andlng staff members Maureen Hetherington and Rlchle Hetherington retired.
The Junction have a new core staff team, appolntlng Kerona McDowall a8 Financial Adminlstrator
(November 2022> and Ruth Gonsalves Moore (Feb 2023) as CEO. The new team ha$ undertaken
settling-in pwiod. bringing all reportlng up to date and are actively leadlng out on deliv8ry and forward
plannino. The Junction contlnues to contract and engage a number of Associate Consultants and
Alfillate Fa¢lltators in Ouf planned programme delivery. through our core work and additlonal
contractual tender opportunlties. Craig Barr arKI Helen Hender80n both 8UPPOrted the work of Tha
Junction as CEOIAcling CEO for Interlm periods through Ihe year.
A cornerstone of The Junction's work 18 building the knowledge and ski118 base of key 8takeholder8 in
civic society through the developm8nl and delivery of a wlde range of training programmes,
Y￿rkShOps, and seminars. The Junction continued to y￿￿k hard to respond to the good relations and
peace-bullding needs of the community and across the community and public 8eclor through
202212023. Through Ihe year we outreached to communty groups across Northern Ireland, engaging
403 individuals in peace bulldlng education and leaming supported by core and project funding from
DFA {Reconcilialion Fund, Stralegic Partners Funding), TEO and Core Funding from CRC and Derry
Cty and Strabane District Council core funding. Our engagement also includes delivery undertaken in
partnership with the Rural Communty Nelwork and Fermanagh Omagh Districl Council'8 District
Council Good Relations programmed.

Tha Junction is looking forward to worklng through existing and new partnershlps at local and regional

opportunities afforded by European Peace Plus funding.
We look forward to the development of a new resource addressing fflental well-belng and exploring its
