During 202.Ir24 we hosled 5,016 people from 225 groups to our Ballycasile Cenire. These numbers renecl Ihe excellent
work of our Cenlre teams who inspire groups to relurn and who deliver our services consisiently well despiie a significani

Seclarianism
Our Iniernaiional Moving Beyond Violence Consor(ium of Ulster University. Bradford Universily. Mershon Cenire for
Inierna(ional Security Studies, The Norihern Ireland Execulive and The Uniied Stales Insiituie for Peace continued to
meei logeiher and in June 202.3 we hosted a residential at Corrymeela called Rires. Ritt4dls aiid Troiisfornwttve Processes.
We inviled parlicipants from Nepal, Nigeria, Lebanon. USA, The Neiherlands, Palesiine, Columbia and more locally lo
engage in a conversation about how (his was applied in oiher countries. There were academics, policy makers and
praetilioner5 preseni and the learning eslabli5hed in Ihai space was Ihen wrillen up and will be published in 2024 through
the United Stales Inslilule for Peace. Following Ihis process, we then co-hosled an Academic saiherins in November
2023 to eslabli5h a re￿arch projeci in partnership wilh Duesto Universily, Mershon Centre for Inlernalional Security

In partnership wilh Communiiy Members, we coniinued io work with Friends who meel in Farsel, a cross cornmuniiy
church based projecl froffl the Fa115 and the Shankill. The group eslablished their relationships through Decade of
Cenienarie5 and Moving Beyond Violence and we have conlinued to build relalionships l(x)king at Culture and
Religion. We also continued io work closely with the Shankill Women's Cenlre concluding wilh a Tesidenlial in
Corrymeela which resulted in the women consulting wilh government deparlmenls regarding fiuslralions wilh violence in

We h05led our Ihird Courage to Larnent service in St Anne's Caihedral on Ihe 21 June 2021 in parlnership with the
Wave Trauma Cenlre and Healing Through Remembering, Si Johns on (he Falls and Belfasl Cathedral, The service was
allended in person by over .l(M) people ¢offling logeiher lo reflect on live5 losl in (he NorihLrn Ireland conflicl. The evenl
was allended by past and present politicians. Many ihanks lo all communily members involved with ihis projecl.
The Programme Manager for Seclariani5m is an aclive member and regular chair of #stopattacks, a pressure group of
church. youth and community worker5 focussing on the residual violence thal we have failed lo move beyond. This year
we have aclively influenced onlirje and in person with the Police Service for Norihern Ireland (PSNI and Tackling
Paramilitary Programme (TPPI. In February 2024, and in partnership with Queens Universi¢y, we hosled Dr Carlene
Firmin who 15 an expert on Conlextual Safeguarding. This is a meihodology of working with Young People al risk of
violence. The event was well attended wilh repreSen￿liveS from boih the Sialulory and NGO sec(or.
In addilion, the Programme Manager is ll member of the Reference Group which is a non-governmenl organisaiion
which engages wilh some of whom who are non-subscribers of peace and the advisory commiiiee ol Ihe Engage Project
in the EA. and on Ihe advisory group of Ihe Cenire for Acknowledgemeni, Learning and Mcmory.
Marginalisation
In 2021-2024, we conlinued to deliver oui on Ihe Asylum Seeker and Refugee Trguma Support Programme. The
programme is funded by Ihe Depanmenl of Health through Ihe Communiiy Foundation Norihern Treland. To dale wilh
our partners Ihe Starling Colleclive, Anaka Women's Colleclive, CANS, Place to Wonder, LORAG and Ihe
Hummingbird Projecl we have delivered Irauma informed training and Services lo 2(KJO people including Ihose seeking
refuge and asylum, praclblioners in the voluntary, community and stalu(ory sector5 and academia.
During Ihe summer of 2021 we hosied l irauma informed residenlials for u5ylum seeker men occommodaled in hole15 in
the Causeway Coasi and Glen5. Ai Ihe invile of Ihe local auihorily, we planned and delivered re¢reals for up lo .16 men
displaced by war and conflici from oiher parts of Ihe world. li was a humbling and enriching experience for Corrymeela.
Wilh funding Irom our Together We Shelter Legacy and in parlnership wilh ihe VSB Foundation and the Blue Pilgrims
Ihe Marginalisaiion team led on Ihe Voices of Migranl Women project which 50ughi lo increase the visibility, voice, and
space for leadership by refugee. asylum seeking and migranl women. During Ihe summer ot 2021, we led on a leadership
resideniial for women ai Corrymeela. Alongside Ihis Ihe Projeci Co-ordinalor conlinued io hold u very busy caseload
involvin8 10+ individuals and families.
We also aeiively promoied a holistic and colleciive approach lo trauma and coniinued to build a communily of practice,

sevLral years. 16 posi-primary teachers and 4 researchers from QUB allended Ihe evenl, The 6-hour training covered each
LILimeni of Ihe scope and sequence of the Facing Hisiory learning journey (idenlity and belon8ing; us and them; historical
Lase siudy; memory, legacy, and judgemenl; choosing lo parlicipale).
With funding from ihe Deparlmenl for Foreign Affairs we marked alongside wider society, Ihe 25th Anniversary of Ihe
Beifastl Good Friday Agreement in April 2023. '25 YeArs On...
was a large-scale programme of public evenis
aiiended by 676 people. The Service of Recommilment on 16 April 202.3 in Clonord Monasiery was ihe centrepiece of Ihe
programme. Thcre. 12 years before Ihe Agreemeni was signed. Fr. Alec Reid held crucial conversaiions iha¢ moved
socieiy from violence io peace.

During this year we were also invited by the Office of ihe Norihern Ireland Executive in Brussels lo
facilitate Ihe Messines Youih Symposium and mark ihe 25, anniversary of ihe Island of Ireland Peace Park. The Youth
Symposium broughi iogeiher young adul￿ from diverse nalions 10 create a colleciive. contemporary Peace Pledge io sii
alongside ihe Peace Pledge wriiien 25 years before. The group mei wilh several represeniatives including members Dr ihe
Barr and Harie families (who were insirumenlal in the esiablishmeni Ihe park). (he four Irish Church Leaders. the Head of
Ihe NI Civil Service. and the Leader of Ihe Corrymeela Communiiy.
Through connections made through previous programmes (Shared Educaiion in Youth Work. Nurturing Hope)
Corrymeela contributed to a successful applicalion for ihe Shared Learning Together strand of PeacePlus. Using
experience from previous projects, Corrymeela was inslrumental in th¢ planning of the Projecl and Writing of the
application alongside Youth Action. This application wa5 successful and ihrough this projecl (Shared Agenda for
Peace), Corrymeela and oiher proje¢l partners will work alongside up to 50 youth clubs per year. delivering cross-
community youth programmins and developing Shared education parinership praciice.

Coffymeela. in partnership with Understanding Conflict Trust, Medialion Nl and TIDES Training, developed and piloied
an experiential programme for young adults called Seeds of Hope. This has emerged from the Nurturing Hope resources
and decades of experience from previous Corrymeela "seed groups." We recruited 17 young adults (aged 18-25) 10
reflect the demographic profile of contemporary Northern Ireland. The gmup spent 75 hours in sessions exploring Ihe
dynamics of interpersonal relationships, politics, conflicl-affecled socielies, and dynamics that grow hope. The Seeds of
Hope Programme is SUPPQTted by Rotary Inlernalional and oiher Rolary clubs from ihese islands, Europe and USA.
In this financial year 202112024 Corrymeela and parlners conlinued to deliver the Our Places Our Pasts Our
Perspectives Programme funded by the National Loltery Heritage Fund, Deparlmenl of Foreign Affairs and the David
Tyler Tru51. Using conte51ed herilage as a lens we Worked alongside Ardcarn Isouih Belfasl), BOMOKO Nl, Save
Our Sperrins, Posilive Carrick and Newlownards lo resource local projects.
3. We committed ourselves as a community to the work of peace and reconciliation.
Corrymeela began with Ihe idea of 'communily'
with individuals, inspired by Iheir Christian faith. agrceing to be in
respeciful relaiionship wilh each oiher as an expression of a new way of being human iogeiher. Corrymeela continues to
have an active membership al ils heari. Alihough we do not require individuals to identify personally as Christian lo be a
member of Corrymeela. we coniinue (o journey as a Christian communiiy iowards reconciliation: 'seekin8 guidance frorn

Members contribute more Ihan 5,000 volunteer hours per year 10 Corrymeela's work 21 Ihe Cenire, alongside pro8ramme

strands of socieiy - with over 2(M) direci links wilh church, civic, educaiional, and professional or8anisa¢ions. In

Members meet monthly in Cell Group5 online or in each other's homes and gather regularly in lopic-focused discussions
on mallers such as Climale Juslice, Public Theology or parlicular conflicts. Through Ihese microcosms of the larger
communily, members have opponunily lo building deeper relalionships with ethch other, to refleci on the practices of peace
and reconcilialion, and to develop projects within pailicular areas of concern.
Among the highlighis of the members, involvemenl Ihis pasi year were (he Friends 101 resideniial, OTgani5ed by the
Ballyhackamore Cell Group, which broughi families connecled through Ihe Farmbox food bank in Belfa51 up lo the
Cenire for a weekend of shared experience and relaiionship-building. Members also helped lead the week-long
Nurthring Hope conference in July. Nurluring Hope hosied an inlernational gaihering of over 60 scholars, praclilioner5
and everyday peacemakers who look io creaie spaces through which people who are divided can "experience the intimacy
of our honesi diflerences."
Oiher member-led iniiiaiives included Ihe Corrymeela podcasi, an online conversaiion aboui ihe war in Gaza, Ihe monihly
Corrymeela in Ihe Ciiy ecumenical services, and Public Theolo8y series cenired around Brian McLaren's book. Faiili

short-ierm volunieering ai the Cenire in which members work wilh other volunteers and alongside staff io provide a

A major developmeni in Ihe life ofihe communily in 2021124 was Ihe adopiion of the Corrymeela Community
Charter. The Charter seis out on Iwo sides of A4 siaiemenls explaining Who We Are. Whal We Do, Why We Do li,
How We Do it, and How We Know Il's Working. Clatifying the relaiionship beiween members, staff, volunleers and
partners. Slressing Ihe collaboralive approach to our work: and laying out our expeeied behaviours, the Charter will serve
as a tool for holding us all accoun(able in our shared work.

Incoming resources for Ihe year were £1.928,284 (2022- £1.707.788). an increase of £220.496. Resideniial income has

The Corrymeela Community 15 a cotnpany limited by guarantee governed by its Memorandum and Arlicles of
Association lasl ￿ vised and adopted on 27th April 2019. 11 is also a registered charity with the Charity Commission for
Norihern Ireland.
ThL Corrymeela Community is a Chrislian community of reconciliation and ihere are currently 166 members (167 in
2022), drawn from many iradilions whose members individually and iogeiher are commiiied 10 reconciliaiion Ihrough ihe
healing of social. religious and poliiical divisions that exist in Northern Ireland and ihroughoul IhL world. Council is
responsible lor ihe overall governance of ihe chariiy.
Appointment of Council

wh¢r¢ appropriaie and agreed, Ihe Leader. In carrying oul lis responsibilities, Council will uphold the values of

Remuneration of Key Management and Personnel
The Irusiees (Council) give of their lime freely and receive no remuneraiion for their duiies. Corrymeela aims, io ihe best of
its ability, lo provide fair and equitable salary remuneraiion whilsi trying to secure a sustainable future. Corrymeela
benchmarks salaries by mapping individual posts, wilh reference lo ihe responsibilities and qualifications required for Ihe
post, against NJC Scales and within Ihe Nl voluntary 5eclor but retnain5 independent frorn any external comparisons. The
rinal decision on any pay review lies with Council.
