## **TRUSTEE REPORT - LARGY COMMUNITY GROUP 2023/24:**

The reporting year 2023/24 saw the Largy Community Group continue to emerge from the effects of the Covid pandemic. Rectifying the damage caused to the floor due to a leak with the radiator system has also had a significant impact in terms of what functionality we could offer, so 2023/24 was the first year for some time that we could offer full unrestricted access to the hall.

It was a quiet year for the Community Group with only a small number of events taking place. The local Bowling Club returned to in September 2023 to use the hall for practice and league fixtures following the resumption of the local indoor league following the pandemic. This brings members of all ages from across the Community together to engage in a competitive league. The Bowling Club also organised a local tournament which brought Clubs together.

In Summer 2023, the Faith Mission used the hall for a Bible Weekend, which included a coffee morning.

The local Presbyterian Church continued to use to hall during the course of the year for a number of events including a Coronation Lunch (May 2023), Church auction (Oct 2023), Church lunch (March 2024).

The Presbyterian Women’s Association used on three occasions: a coffee morning for the local community and meeting in September 2023, followed by a Festive Wreath event in December2023.

In late 2023, Samaritan’s Purse again used the hall for its annual Christmas Shoebox Appeal which local Primary Schools participated in by filling shoeboxes with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and fun gifts for disadvantaged children across the globe. The hall was used as a site for collecting and storing shoeboxes ahead of their journey to England for wider collection/distribution to recipients as part of that year’s appeal.

The Committee continued to meet in person to discuss to finalise minutes of previous meetings and discuss matters arising at the time.

In the financial climate finances continued to be an area of concern and we remain extremely grateful to the Causeway Coast and Glens Council for their continued financial support through the Community Development Support Grant (CDSG) Fund. The CDSG helped in covering running costs.

Finally, the Community Association would again like to thank all those who have supported the Community Association during the year. This report highlights the resilience and activities that have brought the local community together during this period.
