Report of the Trustees
Objects of the charltv
To advance the Christian Faith in Northern Ireland and elsewhere by:"
l. Holding church services and public meetings for praise, worship, bible teaching,
prayer, healing and fellowship;
2. Providing activities, education and teaching for children and young people;
3. The support and encouragement of the Christian Church at home and overseas;
4. Such other charitable acts and things as will (or will tend to) promote or encourage
the Christian faith and which are in sympathy with the other aims and objects of the
Churches Trust Deed;
Governance
The legal, policy and financial responslbllities of the church rest with the Trustees who meet
to monitor the activities of the Trust. The existing trustees appoint new trustees.
As a result of the successful church re-launch in 2019 under the leadership of CFC East, and
the appointment of the new Trustees to the board in 2021 and 2022, there is a robust plan in
place to ensure the continued good governance of the organisation going forward.
During 2023 Andrew Gibson, Colin Stewart, Paul Betts, Tommy Moore, Carl Mcmanus and
Arlene McDowell oversaw the Holywood CFC operations as Trustees of the organisation.
Major changes 2023
Sn 2023, under the leadership of Pastor Carl Mcmanus, the church saw sustained growth in
the number of people and families attending the weekly services and events.
During the year the church was led in harmony with the objectives of Holywood CFC Trust
and demonstrated an on-going commitment to Holywood Family Trust, our key partner.
Service5 have been delivered to all age groups and members have consistently participated
in the activities a nd services.
The delivery of other in-person activities such a5 youth, children's and counselling services,
resumed to pre-covid levels during the 2023 year, meaning the Tru5t'5 premises have
returned to more normal levels of utilisation.
During the year, the Trust continued to support Holywood Family Trust and overseas
partners involved in Christian mission and social transformation.
The Trust continued to enjoy the benefit of being mortgage free after paying off the balance
of monies owed in 2021. This removed the Trust'5 chief financial liability for the building

assets and allowed the Trust to put money aside for future desired building improvements.
The Trustees continued to manage the buildings for users and to maintain the upkeep of the
fabric of the premises.
It is anticipated that eventually the assets of Holywood CFC will be acquired by CFC East.
With this aim in mind, the Trustees appointed from CFC East will be involved in planning an
approach and methodology of how this will be done.

Independent Examiner's Report
To the Trustees of Holywood Christian Fellowship Church
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2023 set out on pages
7 to 10 which have been prepared on the basi5 of the accounting policies on page 6.
Respertlve responsibilitle5 of trustees and examiner
The trustees of the charity are responsible for the preparation of accounts. I have been
appointed to conduct an Independent Examination equivalent to that required by section 43
of the Charities Act, 1993 and to report in accordance with the regulations made under
section 44 of that Act. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts, without performing an
audit, and to report to the Trustees.
Basis of Independent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the
Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
the charlty and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations
from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide
all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an
audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner's statement
Based on my examination, no matter has come to my attention which gives me reasonable
cause to believe that in any material respect, accounting records have not been kept
equivalent to those that would have been required if the charity was required to comply with
section 41 of the 1993 Act, or that the accounts presented do not accord with those records,
or comply with the accounting requirement of the 1993 Act. No matter has come to my
attention in connection with my examination to which, in my opinion, attention should be
drawn to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
