Ob'ectives and activities
The club is established for the benefit of persons with an intftllectua
disability and in particular to:
1. Provide or assist in the provision of sports training for the
beneficiaries.
2. Provide opportunities for the beneficiaries to participate in Special
Olympics competition at loGal, regional, national and international
level.
3. Assist the beneficiaries by the provision of social and leisure
opportunities and by helping to increase public awareness of the
needs arKI capabilities of the beneficiaries with the object of
improving their conditions of life.

We offer a programme of sport for all levels of ability. Our club offers
weekly training sessions in the following sports"
Bor￿. swimrhing and Athletics.
Each athlete receives a free dub polo shirt upon registration.
For competiti6ns athletes or teams are grouped in divisions to ensure fair
competition and each athlete or team is recognised for hislher
performance kith medals awarded for first through to third place and
ribbons for fotsh through to eight places. Competition is offered at area,
regional and yational level. wrth an opportunity to progress in
intemational competition. Our clubs mission and vision mirror Special

Omagh Spires Special Olympics Club has over 60 athletes which is
increasing year on year. Ages range fonn 8 years up to 50 years old.
The club usually participates in the following sports throughout the year,
Bocce, swimming and most re￿ntlY Athletics. Training usually takes
place each week in a local venue.
