Ballywalter Youth & Community Cooperative during this period continues to provide a
shared community space for community groups, statutory organisations etc to meet
and offer services at Ballywalter Village Hall.
During this period, Covid restrictions were relaxing and as such more activities were
able to be undertaken throughout the building. Our hygiene stands, and signage, etc
remain in use to continue to ensure the safety of users of our hall. During this period
we had 10 regular user groups 25 ad hoc users from Voluntary and Local
Government Departs. In addition, the hall was used by Ballywalter Community
Action Group to deliver the Jubilee Celebration Event and Christmas Festival. These
organisations offered services for isolated older people, historical organisations, as
well as running training or information workshops.
In addition, the hall has 2 business units, this allows us to provide space for 2 local
businesses - Barbers and Hair & Beauty Salon they between them provide
employment for 6 people and deliver services to Ballywalter and the surrounding
areas this saves residents the costs of travelling to Newtownards or Bangor.
Ballywalter Village Hall is an integral part of the community and means that the Main
Street in the village and continues to be the focal point of that area as it provides a
welcoming and accessible space for community use to meet all needs.
