STONEYFORD PARISH
ST JOHN'S CH

26" April 2023
Dear Parlshioners,
Two big items of neivs in the last 12 months are an end to Covid Restrictions, the last
vestiges of the pandemic controls end in June when we return to the Common Cup for our
Holy Communion services. The second event is that Stoneyford and Gartree Parishes have
been grouped under a single cure.
What this means is that both Parishes remain Rndependent with their own vestries,
income, Bank accounts and buildings etc but are under the oversight of the same Mlnister.
The goal being that in the future the 2 Parishes would be able to support a full time Rector
who may live in the Rectory in Stoneyford. This will hopefulty secure the status of
Stoneyford and Gartree as Parishes Rn their own right going forward,
One throwback to COVID that we have not got rid of has been the Streaming of our
services on FaceBoolL We actually have more viewers online every week than in church.
This servlce is especially beneficial to Parishioners who cannot get to Public worship due
to health or mobility reasons and we iDtend to upgrade our service.
I would like to thank all those who have made this continuing online ministry possible in
particular, Jason, Jennifer, Lgurn, Claire, Dessie 2nd Rebecca for their time and talents.
We could do with some more Volunteers for these jobs, so if anyone is interested please let
me know.
We welcome new members Kobie, Iris, Rachel and Katie to the Church through Hoty
Baptism in the past year.
In the last 12 months we have had no deaths of ParishRoners which has been great as we
had a particularty difficult year previousty.
We have had 2 Country Gospel Dances Rn the Ballymac in the past year which were very
successful raising well over £4000 for Church funds as well as being great SOCRal events for
Parishloners and the wider community. A special thanks to Trevor, Jennifer and Jason
for making those events so successful.
We had events through the year to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II as well as commemorating her passing in September. We also planted 2 trees
regarding both occasions on the Church Grounds. Tomorrow evening we will celebrate
the upcoming Coronation of KRng Charles Ill and plant a tree to mark the occasion later
in the year.

I would like to thank the congregation for your continuing support over the past year as
Priest-in-cbarge of St John's, especialty during the illness and the passing of my dear
mother Peggy.
I would especialty like to thank the wardens, Zelda, Annie, Terence and Dessie, Treasurer
Jason, Secretary Jennifer and all the members of the Select Vestry who have been
instrumental in building the Church here in Stoneyford and our Organist Rosemary for
leading us in our Prnise.
The 'Lawn Rangers, headed up by Vicar's Glebe Warden Zelda and her team of
volunteers have continued the maintenance of the Church grounds for the past year. A
fantastic Ministry which all can appreciat
St John's continues to work with Mission Partners such as Christian Aid, CEF, and
Crosslinks ete to sbare in the wider work of Christ's chureh incarnate here on earth.
I would like to thank the Sunday school teachers, Abbie, Nichola, Jennyg Dorothy and
Molty for all their hard workwith our children throughout the year.
It just leaves me to wish you all a blessed year to come in St John's, Stoneyford.
