## **Report of the trustees of Millisle & District Community Association** 

The financial year the report relates to 

_01 April 2023 to 31 March 2024._ 

A summary of the charity’s: `o` main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit o main achievements in the year 

_Activities – We continue to maintain a significant presence in the Millisle Community, based in the Hub premises. Main achievements – Taking the lead in supporting the Community, working alongside the other organisations in the village in making Millisle Community Hub a vital resource to the village in what has been a challenging economic environment._ 

A statement that the trustees have had regard to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance 

_The charity trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission (NI)’s Public benefit requirement._ 

A review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the year 

_The charity is in a sound financial position at 31[st] March 2024. It has a small amount of reserves, relying mainly on local Council funding from year to year, along with a charitable donation from the CIC which operates the charity shop Mrs Rummages._ 

Details of any fund held by the charity that was materially in deficit’ at the end of the year and steps taken by the charity trustees to eliminate the deficit

A summary description of the purposes of the charity 

_The Association aims to: 1. advance community development, health, education, the arts culture and heritage 2. promote the general well being of the community and to foster a good community spirit 3. provide a forum for the expression of the views and opinions held by the community_ 

The name of any person, or body of persons, permitted by the trusts of the charity to appoint one or more new charity trustees and a description of the method used to make such appointments
