CHAIR REPORT 2022-2023
CRANAGH & AGHAGALLON CLUB
After a period, unprecedented in its challenges because of the pandemic, the Cranagh &
Aghagallon Club has resumed its services to the Senior Citizens of the area and a varied
programme of activities has been underway.
This is the range of activities that service users have enjoyed in 2022 until the beginning of
Spring 2023.
Making window boxes and planting Spring bulbs.
Visit to Lough Neagh Discovery Centre.
Sprucefield visit.
Storytelling at the Civic Centre
Crime Prevention talks.
Flower Arranging.
Summer party with music and dance.
Consumer Council talk.
September trip to the Mourne5 Visiting Newcastle and Warrenpoint with lunch.
Art sessions, using slate, with Bruce.
Health and Wellbeing sessions with Sean Collins.
Christmas party with music and dance.
We had 4 cookery demonstration5 in January /February 2023 and a storytelling event in the
Cranagh hall.
The Service Users have benefited from friendly company and chat throughout the year.
We piloted the provision of hot meals delivered at a reasonable cost and of good nutritious
quality from October until January. Unfortunately, I had to cease this provision as several
Service Users decided against this and it was not practical or cost effective to deliver hot dinners
from Lurgan for a small number of Service Users.
6 Volunteers went through Access Nl in February and await their certificates.
Volunteers remain positive and enthusiastic, and they hope that more volunteers can be
recruited. Deepest thanks to all those Volunteers both on the committee and who assist on
Tuesdays for the betterment of our local community. Their commitment and endeavour to
support the community is invaluable.
Thank5 also to the network of partnerships that help sustain us throughout the year, particularly
the LCP, SLNRA, PBNI & AOH
