A Subject to the matters set (xrt below, the U 3 A shall be administered and mana8ed, to the best of
our ability, accordlng to the constitution. We are a small group of 35 elderly members.

cti¥es We aim to provide objectives centered around provlding educational and soclal opportunities for
individuals, including activities to stimulate intellectual interests and promote lifelong learning, enchasing
opportunlties for soclal Interaction, mental stimulatson, and overall wellbeing through various programmes and
events. We encourage social connertkons and mutual support. We also alm to acquire new skills, both practical and
intellectual to enrich the lives of the participants. These objectives aim to create a vlbrant and supportive community
for our senior group of senlor ladles, emphasizing continued leamin& social enjoyff*nt and overall wellbeing. We
encourage active ageing.

Our U 3 A has 4 trustees who genernlly look after the smooth runnln8 of the group. The trustees
also hold the following posts, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasure and Transport Organi￿r. The Chairperson leads the
meetings, also involved in plannin8 the Wdrious activities. Induding chalr exercises and a walking group. The secretsry
manages records, handles correspondence and composes monthly news sheets. The Treasurer manages financial
matters, budgets and flnancial reporting.
Flnance The funds of the U 3 A are paid into an account by the treasurer. Two signatures are necessary on each
cheque, in line with good financial procedures. All proper costs, charges and expenses may be defrayed from the
funds of the U 3 A. We have been NEry fortunate is being av4arded a Lottery Grant of £6.629 which must be spent
betsveen June 2023 and June 2024. This has enabled us to hire a bus on a few occaslons to vtsit places of Interest, to
visit the threatre and partially Subs1th￿ the cost of tickets etc
nts The treasurer is responslble for keeping a¢counting records. the preparation of the annual statement of
accounts and the completion of the statement of accounts of the U 3 ￿ We use A l B as bank
G M The A G M is held in March or Aprll. Advance nottce 55 given to members. Members are welcomed and the
Chalrperson, the Secretary and the Treasure present their reports. Offices are declared vacant, nomlnations are
requested, elections take place and a committee is fomEd. Reflecting on last year's activities. achievements and
challenges are also discussed. Membets Input Is vital, the AGM is the opp)rtunity for members to share thoughts,
suggestions and concerns. AGMS are crudally for transparency, a¢countsbility and invthng the U 3A communlty In
the decisionmaking process.

Our group meet on the last Wednesday of each rrK>nth, either in a local hotel. a community hall, a golf dub, or, even
theatre. This offer5 a unique atmosphere and Can enhance creatlvlty and collaboration. A walkin8 group meet
weekly fulfilling goals of Improvi￿ fitness, xxiallzing and exploring local landscapes and an exercise group meet
each Frlday In the local leisure centre.
The monthly meeting is usualty a meal follo￿d by a qulz or a tslk by a guest speaker, who presents rèlevant
expertise to our members. They may be professlonal, leaders. experts or local persons who can pffjvide valuable
Inslghts.
Vlhen we read the evaluation sheets our members complete. we confimi that they are very happy with the
opportunities we offer, and they are always grateful for the or8anlzation that goes into making each event a happy,
