December 2023** The trustees present the annual report for Friends’ of Lindsay House (FoLH), for the year ended 31[st] . December 2023. ## _**Objectives and Activities**_ The Friends of Lindsay House is a small charity which benefits the children and young people aged 5 to 18 years of age who have learning difficulties / disabilities and are residents or former residents of Lindsay House in Dunmurry and surrounding areas of Belfast. The charity provides financial and other assistance to support the charitable work of Lindsay House. The purposes of the FoLH are to relieve residents and former residents of Lindsay House in Dunmurry and surrounding areas of Belfast who have learning difficulties / disabilities who are in need of financial support or other assistance and generally to support the charitable work of Lindsay House. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose include improved wellbeing, health, participation, reducing stress and anxiety for the children and young people. Parents and family members also benefit resulting from periods of rest bite for the children and young people. The benefits are evident through feedback from the staff in Lindsay House, parents and family members. The purpose of our charity is solely beneficial and in no way harmful. ## _**Achievements, Performance & Public Benefit**_ In 2023 the FoLH have financially supported the work of Lindsay House (LH) in yet again, another most difficult year, following Covid-19 and requirements of the SEH&ST. While support for LH again remained in a lesser financial manner than that of previous years prior to Covid-19. Travel and outings have been restricted nevertheless, the FoLH have provided some equipment to aid improve the experience for the children and young people staying in Lindsay House. Funding was provided this year to purchase multisensory toys/equipment items from Amazon for which the children rely on for play and self-regulation. Funding was also provided for an all-weather area with cost being covered in both 2022 and 2023. The FoLH depend exclusively on donations as well as funds raised through sponsorship. In 2023, the FoLH received a number of donations, funds in hand, remain sufficient for the FoLH to maintain their support of LH. The Trustees’, thank all who have supported financially and in others ways the work of the FoLH through recent years, without their support we could not function, thank you all. The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Charity can continue its activities, and the financial statements for the year ended 2023 can be signed off as a going concern. ## _**Compliance with Public Benefit**_ The Friends’ of Lindsay House have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Charitie’s objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit. ## _**Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities**_ The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Report and the statement of receipts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. ## **Signed on Behalf of the Trustees** Trustee 1 - Jim Braiden [signed] Chairperson Trustee 2 - Trevor T Field [signed] Hon Treasurer 29[th] .
