They are as follows- The prevention or relief of poverty The advancement of education The advancement of rellglon The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardshlp or other disadvantage Achlevements and performance of the charity The charlty has continued to provide an improved quality of life for orphans and vulnerable chlldren benefiting from the centre In Mufullra. Thls has been conducted through the provislon of accommodation. clothes, food, and emotlonal support made possible by the orphanage. The aim of self-sustsinabllity has continued to bè è main objective and this is being met through the banana plantation and water supply. The orphanage 15 also 8rowin8 many of t￿1r own ve8etsbles with any surplus being supplied to a local supermarket wlth the proceeds bein8 used to cover everyday INing costs. A local farmer has now given the orphanage addltional land and this is being used for growing maize and extra vegetable5. In total, the orphanage farms approximately 70 acres. Maize, vegetables. oranges, bananas and other frults have been grown on the lènd with a successful harvest thls year. The orphanage now owns four cows which produce milk for the children, Containers are still being sent to the orphanage. These containers Include clothln& furniture and other Stems for the use of the children. Some Items are sold with the proceeds used for the contlnued upkeep of the orphanage, Maintenance work has been carrled out In both the glrls dormltory and the boys dormitory. They have both had to be repalnted due to dust which is comin8 off the main road which runs alon85ide the Orphana8e and thls has been causin8 problems. Oue to d15ruptlon on the National Grid. the electricity supply to the Orphanage is very poor. It can be switched off at any tlme for long period5. on somè occasions up to two days. Four solar panels have been purchased and Installed to help provide a power supply durlng these dlsruptions. Battery bulbs have also been purchased, so that If there Is no electricity, then the children can at least have some light at nlghttlme for homework. study etc. The school teacher, Mervyn, is continuing to do great work with the children. Last year there were seven new children at the orphanage and they have been Integrated into the school. New Regulatlons have now been introduced by the Government. All children in orphanages have lo be reglstered and a55es5ed by Government Officials. This is being carried out at present and each chlld 55 belng assessed and having thelr photO8raph and medical detsils recorded. Once complete. thls wlll be revlewed on ark annual basls. Publlc benefit ststemenr The trustee5 contlnue to work toward the benefit originally laid out in the creation of the charity. The direct benefit which flows from pU￿se one includes an improved quality of life for the orphans and vulnerable chlldren of Mufulira through the provision of accommodation. clothe5, food. and emotional support. The improvement of the life chances of the children supported by the orphanage happens through the provlsion of funding for education and a carlng and nurturlng establishment where they are taught life skills to equip them to live independent lives as skllled and productive citizens who are self-sufficient when they reach adulthood. The establishment of sustainable projects e.g. banana plantation and farming projects enables the children and young adults to learn valuable life skills such as farming skllls and money management and develop their potential to live as independent. self-sustaining adults. This is evidenced by the establishment of the orphanage and the Increased number of children supported by the orphanage, the increasing number of chlldren who leave the orphanage with a formal education and are self.motivated young adult5 capable of independent living and by the successful banana haryest each year which 15 used to buy provisions for the orphanage.

The beneflts are evldenced by the positive feedback from the children who have lived at the orphanage as well as the Increased number of children who seek to live withirt Biblical principles. The direct beneflt from purpose three is to enable the Charity to grow and develop as funding become available to include other charitable purposes, e.g. the advèncement of cltizenship or community development, and further improve the quality of lifè for the people of Mufulira. This benefit Is evldenced by the growlng work of Mufulira Orphaned Children. The beneficiaries of all our purposes are the orph3ns of the Mufulira area and these purposes do not lead to harm. There is no private benefit for the trustees. Flnanclal Review Durlng the year, the charity had an income of £29.612 wtth expenses Incurred of £31.214. At the year end the charity had a balance of £670 in its bank account. The orphanage is in a position that they grow Vegetables. malze, bananas etc, they have chickens which supply eggs and now cows 5upptylng milk. Most of this is used for the orphanage meals and the remalnder sold and this provides some money to buy rice etc to enhance their mea15. Thls also helps to make what money there is available for electricity, school, clothln& Car maintenance payments etc. Generalty. there Is little, or nothlng left over for any othei expenses which may occur. The trustees of the charlty are getting older and a￿ not as able to conduct the work of the charfty. Wllllam and Rea Mcmullan have declded, with regret. not to take any further trips to the OrphanaBe due to their age. However, they wlll contlnue to stay In touch weekly by telephone lo check if any problems have arisen. The trustees expect that all funds raised wlll contlnue to be required to keep the children fed, clothed, and schooled. Strurturel governance. and management The trustees continue to work as the overarching management of the charity. Thls Is done through regular meetin8$ in whlch progress and financial ￿portIng are delivered as well as recorded. Financial accountablllty Is alwa￿ made posslble throu8h regulaf reportlng and money belng dealt with by two people. STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBIIITIES The Trustees are responslble for preparing the annual report and the financial statements of the charity in accordance wlth appllcable law and generally accepted accotsntlng prartke. As the ¢harltVs totsl income does not exceed £250,000. the Trustees have eletted under Section 64131 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to prepare a receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and Ilabllltles. The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accountlng record5 that aTe sufficient to show and explain the charit¢s transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time its financial position. They are 3150 responslble for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for tsklng reasonable steps for the preventron and detertitjn of fraud and other irregularitles.
