Dunsford Cross Community Association Annual General Meeting/Trustees Report Yr end 31 March 2023.

The AGM was held on Saturday 30 September 2023 at 11.00 am in Dunsford Old School. The Chairperson Mary McCargo welcomed everyone to the meeting which was the first that could be held since 2020 because of the Covid restrictions.

She reported that the Association had weathered the restrictions well and most of the activities had now restarted.

The Hon Treasurer reported that income streams had recovers to pre Covid levels and there was a positive balance of approximately £20,000 in the account at the Ulster Bank. She noted that there was a need for some of this money to be committed for redecoration, minor repair, and maintenance. There was also a probable need to refurbish the playground, an issue to be covered in more detail later.

A motion to accept the report proposed by John Doyle, seconded by James McAlea was unanimously passed

The next item of business was the election of Officers and Committee. Mary temporarily vacated the Chair and Trustee Raymond Crea took over for the re-election. Brian Gill proposed the all the officers and Committee be deemed elected. This was seconded by John Doyle. The Chairman, having confirmed the they were all prepared to serve, declared them duly elected.

Brenda Cadogan updated the meeting on the progress with our application for a grant from Newry,Mourne and Down District Council for the refurbishment of the playground which was now becoming urgent. She reported that it had been rejected because it was considered not to be an integral part of the Community Centre. The refusal had been appealed through the Council complaints procedure and the response was expected in due course. There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting at 12.15
