**Purposes:** For the public benefit and primarily within Northern Ireland to support and further the control of cancer and allied diseases and to alleviate the trauma, pain and suffering therefrom and in particular: to provide caring services and information for patients with cancer, their families and all concerned both for them and about cancer to fund internationally competitive, high quality research into the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer to reduce the incidence of cancer and promote its early diagnosis and treatment and  to raise professional and public awareness of cancer issues and influence policy makers to improve cancer services and public health policy
