The Iruslegs present their annual reptrrt and financial stslemenls for the year ended 31 May 2022.
The financial slalemen15 have bean prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial slalemenls and comply with the charity's Metnorandum of Association, the Companies Act 2006 8nd
'Accounling and Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Re￿mmended Practice applicable lo charities pr&paring
their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS 1021. las amended for accounting periods commencillg from 1 January 20161.
Objectives and activltles
To advance in life and help Ghildren who have a diagnosis of Aulislic Spectrum Disorder IASDI, or are in the
process ol being assessed for such a diagnosis, by".
Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilit'es to enable them
lo participate in so¢ioty,'
b. Providing parent training in Applied Behaviour81 Analysis lo aid their understanding of the tr21ts of
Autism, and provide skills lo support thom in addressing the behavioural challenges common in
children with aulism.,
c. Providing training workshops on specific issues, advocacy and general support for parents ol
children affected by ASD..
d. Providing short breaks for families affected by ASD, including recreational opportunilies to aid
integration and social inclusion during out ol school hour5 and school holidays.
The operations of STARS Autism Project and ils governance have besn in lin8 wlh the slalulory guidance from
the Commission.
Achlèvem8nts and performance
The charity continued lo provide ils primary services during the year, in line with ils public benefit stalerrenl.

Financial review
The charity had no income of in the year from fees for ils activities or donations, and had costs of £1215. The
charrty continues lo have a reservgs al the year end and has no funds in deficit.
11 is the policy of the charity that unrestrided funds which have not been designated for a specffic use should be
maintained al a level equivalent lo between three and six month's expenditure. The Iruslees considers that
reserves al this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the
charity's current activities while consideration is given lo ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level
of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
In light of the restrictions from the first COVID-19 lockdown, the charity suspended "rts aclwilles In March 2020.
Given the nature ol its activities, which involve close ¢￿tact between volunteers and children, the Charity is
keeping the pandemic reslriclions under review and intends lo re$ume operations when the management
committee, parents and volunteers are confident lo do so.
The Iruslees have assessed the major risks lo which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
place lo mitigate exposure lo the rnajor risks.

STARS ALJlism Project is consliluted as a company limited by guarantee and not having 8 share capital. 11 is
governed by a Memorandum ofAssocialion which has been submilled to the Charities Commission for Northern
Ireland and was registered in 2018 under that Memorandum olAssocialion.
The Iruslees, who are also the directors for the purpose of company law. and who seNed during the year and up

There is no external body with the power lo appoint Iruslees or directors of the charity.
None of the Iruslees have any beneficial interest in the company. All of the Iruslees are rnembers of the company
