## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

|**Governance**|The club is governed by four trustees who are<br>supported by a management committee and<br>experienced football  coaches|

Antrim Football Association and the<br>Down Area Winter Football League.|
|**Trustees & volunteers**|All trustees and volunteers give their time freely<br>and no remuneration ispaid.|





## **Objectives and Activities** 

|**Summary of the club’s objectives**|HFC welcomes players from all communities &<br>backgrounds and aims to provide a safe &<br>enjoyable environment for them to learn &<br>develop their potential soccer skills. The club<br>achieves this by providing the players with the<br>facilities to interact on both a one-to-one basis<br>and also within a team environment through<br>experienced coaches & formerplayers.|

|**Summary of the main activities undertaken for**<br>**the public benefit in relation to those objectives**|The club provides safe facilities to allow<br>approximately 60 senior players (aged 18 & over)<br>from the local community / surrounding area to<br>enjoy football in a well supervised environment<br>regardless of race, religion or perceived ability.<br>The club encourages its members to:<br><br>Foster, develop and promote the game of<br>football in Holywood and its surrounding<br>area.<br><br>Assist in the development of sportsmanship<br>and community spirit.<br><br>Respect its codes of conduct, coaching<br>guidelines and playing regulations.<br><br>Participate and support football<br>competitions within the local area and under<br>the jurisdiction of the relevant football<br>authorities.|
|Additional objectives & activities|A considerable personal contribution is made by<br>coaches and volunteers each season. The<br>Trustees are grateful for the huge commitment<br>that is made by everyone within the club. Time is<br>given freelybyall our members.|
|Future plans|The coaches & committee will continue to<br>ensure that a structure is in place to support all<br>its members and to progress any future<br>development of the club. HFC will continue to<br>develop its volunteers with the best in training<br>and seek to further expand the club.|





## **Achievements & performance** 

||**Summary of the main achievements**|<br>Another successful year on the pitch with<br>the first and second teams narrowly missing<br>out on successive promotions and the third<br>team finishing a respectable fifth place in<br>their inaugural season in the Down Area<br>league.<br><br>The three teams fulfilled their expected<br>league & cup fixtures in addition to a full<br>programme of pre-season friendlies.<br><br>There was a significant increase in<br>sponsorship funds brought into the club with<br>c50% allocated to new kit and equipment|

## **Financial review** 

|**Review of income & expenditure**|The Club recorded a deficit of £2.8k for the year.<br>Total income increased to almost £26k (up £6k<br>on previous year) as a result of the increased<br>sponsorship. Players subscriptions increased to<br>£9k and  ‘Last Man Standing’ generated almost<br>twice that of the previous year, contributing<br>£2.3k.<br>Costs increased by £7k to £28.6k with Kit and<br>equipment totalling £8.5k, from £3k last year.<br>The only other notable increase was in referee’s<br>fees @ £3.3k, up £1k on 2022.<br>At 31 March 2023 the club’s bank & cash balance<br>totalled £9,705.94, all of which was unrestricted<br>funds. These funds are held to meet all planned<br>& unforeseen expenditure that may occur and to<br>assist with the on-going development of the<br>club.|
