TRUSTEES REPORT: Charity Ref 101208 Dungannon Free Methodist: Operating as Light & Life Christian Centre

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

For period ending December 2022, I would like to state that the purpose of the above charity remains the same as on file. We exist to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ among the public in accordance with Biblical principles and practices in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, UK and abroad. The public benefit is that the gospel of Jesus Christ is communicated among the general public resulting in personal faith in Him and lives lived in a law abiding, moral and godly manner. The spiritual, physical, emotional and pastoral needs of children, young people and adults are met within the church through public worship services and a range of activities. We have increased our awareness of mental health issues also throughout the last year. The benefits are informally fed back to the members from those who participate in these activities, from the people within the community whom we serve. The beneficiaries are the general public. The trustees gain personally from the charity in the same way that the general public benefit.

The charity also purposes to prevent or relieve poverty among those in hardship in Dungannon, its surrounding areas and abroad by means of financial or other material support. The public benefits which flow from this purpose, are improved financial standing, living conditions, health and reduced levels of anxiety among the beneficiaries. These benefits are evidenced by periodic reports from either the recipients, or by visits to the beneficiaries by those from the church. There is no private benefit. The beneficiaries are the general public.

As a Christian centre, we hold Sunday and weekday services and community events including community parent and toddlers group, children’s club and youth club. We also hold frequent activities for men, women and families and these events are funded by freewill offerings given by attendees. We also participate in local community activities as well as supporting worldwide mission activity.

Our leadership team is headed up by Rev Sheila Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Paul Erskine (Trustee), Sarah Carson and Shirley Colbert. I hereby state that as a trustee, I have access to the Commission’s Public benefit requirement statutory guidance. I also state that I have viewed and approve the financial report as submitted and that there are no debts incurred by the charity. Income: £43893 Expenditure: £43734. This is a true account to the best of my knowledge for this period ending December 2022.
