Activities

The Association is established to promote the benefit of people from the Sudan and those of Sudanese descent living in Northern Ireland by associating together the said inhabitants, the local authorities and voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to relieve poverty, advance education and provide facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation and in the interests of social welfare with the objects of improving their conditions of life, and in particular: a) To establish or secure the establishment of a community centre within Northern Ireland (hereinafter called ''the centre'') and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other body) in furtherance of the above object; b) To promote knowledge and mutual understanding between people of Sudanese descent and the wider community within Northern Ireland for the benefit of the public; c) To provide or support in providing humanitarian aid to people in the Sudan in need of such assistance as a result of their poverty or social and economic circumstances.
