Achlevements and performance
The vision of Holy Cross Ardoyne Trust is lo serve the people and communities of Norlh
Belfast, in particular, the Holy Cross parish community and the people of th8 Ardoyne and
Shanl<ill areas, with a wider outreach lo other groups and agencies across Belfast and the
North.
Holy Cross Ardoyne Trusl's primary focus is currently the support of Houben Centre, which
wa5 formerly the old parish hall of Holy Cross. The Trust undertook to fund Ihe renovation of
the hall into a Centr6 for the area and which opened in 2015,

The focus on peace and reconciliation has been a prlmary characteristic for the Cenlre, and
for which it has gained renown locally, nationally and internationally.
2022 was a year of many challenges, in particular addresslng the impact of the pandemic,
whlch 6ncroached every strata of society, and whlch wlll continue to cast its shadow. The
Centre allained full operationa1 capacity, Ils allractlng tenanls for the lettable officelfloor
spaces, and despite the impact of COVID on the hospitality s8dor, for the café provision too.
In the shadow of the pandemSc and flscal constraints, there continues to be many challenges,
politiGal, social and economic. The Trust belleves that, through Ihg support of the Houben
Centre, it can provide a unique contribution in the lask of co-crealing a foundation for a just,
tolerant and peaceful society. The Trust, through the Houben Centre, conlinLies lo work in
collaboration with local cross community agencies, providers and group5 for the betlermenl of
the people of Ardoyne and n8ighbouring disadvantaged areas in North Belfasl.

DLiring Ihe year lo 31 sl December 2022 the Trust has recelved income Irorn renting facilities and room
hire lolalling £53,977 {2021.. £17,OQ81. The Trusl also receivod £300 donallon during the year.
Last year the Trust received £38,385 from the Deparlment of Communities in fÈlalion lo a Covid 19
grant.
