Great emphasis is now being placed on the All Island rail
review a high level study which will look at rail infrastructure
in both jurisdictions. PARS believes Armagh will feature
within this study as Armagh stands out as an important
tourist destination for people throughout the island and
further afield.
PARS believes this has been another year of advancement
and as a group feels empowered to continue with the
campaign to have the railway restored to Armagh.

The committee ofthe Portadown, Armagh, Railway Society
met during the reporting period via Zoom and in person at
Woodford Hall in Armagh.
During the year the PARS committee members met with
Aldermen and Councillors and relevant council officials
facilitating the needs of the ACBC Council Railway Working
Group. During this period a feasibility study was released
which indicated many positive outcomes if the railway was
once again reconnected to the City of Armagh. There are
indications further studies will now take place.
Communication and discussions continue between
committee members MLA'S, MWS, Dfl and those
responsible for railway planning and operation within the
Province.
