The committee of the Portadown, Armagh, Railway Society
met during the reporting period via Zoom and in person at
Woodford Hall in Armagh.
During the yearthe PARS committee members met with
Aldermen and Councillors and relevant council officials
facilitatingthe needs of the ACBC Council Railway Working
Group.
Communication and discussions have taken place between
committee members MLA'S, MP'S, Dfl and those
responsible for railway planning and operation within the
Province.
As has been indicated in previous reports a feasibility study is

currently underway into the possibility of the reopening of
the Portadown to Armagh railway. The results are expected
to be made public in the Autumn of 2023 when the report is
presented by AECOM to the local council and Dfl
The committee would like to thankthe councillors and others
who have given of theirtime to furtherthe campaign of
reinstating this important rail corridor.
With the imminent study namely the All-lsland Rail Review it
is hoped Armagh City will be included within the proposals
outlined in this review considering it's a city of 16,500
people.
