Principal Activities
The objective of Fivemiletown Community Development Association is to provide charitable services to the local
community.
The financial statements comply with Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to
charities Preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2021).
Main achievements
We gave support of £ 1000 to the local Community Walking Club, £500 towards the local Chamber of Commerce
Christmas lights appeal, £300 to the Fivemiletowm Methodist Friendship Club, £390 to FivemiletoNvn Methodist
Church and £2250 Fivemiletown Primat)'/Nursery School and £3095 to fLmd oulings.
Public Benefit
To advance education - the direct benefiis which flow from this purpose are increased access to inforniaiion, increased
confidence and self-esteem, increased ability to access employment opportunities.
The benefits are evidenced through feedback and evaluation from the group and local community. There is no hann
anticipaied from this Purpose. The charity's beneficiaries are people living in the n￿al area of Fivemiletown. A private
benefit may arise from trustees accessing our ongoing progrdmme of activities in the community. These benefits are
incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided io our beneficiarie5.
To promote the preservation and protection of health among people of all ages in Fivemiletown and its environs in County
Tyrone wilhout distinction of age, gender, Sexuality, nationality, ethnic origin, political or religious opinion. The direct
b¢nefits which flow from this purpose are the provision of a neutrdl venue for local people to meet and 50cialise. increased
access to infonnation, increased confidence and self-esteem.
The benefits are evidenced through feedback and evaluation from the group and local community. There ts no harm
anticipated from this purpose.
To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recrealional activities designed to promote health and fitnes5 or
other leisure-time w¢upation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants the direct
benefits which flow from this purpose are the provision of a neutral venue for local people to meet and socialise in an
isolated border arei increased acc¢ss to inforniation, increased confidence and self-esteem. and, increased cross-
community int¢raction. The benefits are evidenced through feedback and evaluation from ihe group and local community.
There is no hanrft anticipated from this purpose.

Results
The results for the year are set out in the attached accounts. There is a Defecit for the year of £(583)
2023- Deficit of £(605).
Future developments
It is intended that Fivemiletown Community Development Association will continue in the long terni and will provid¢
charitable services to the local community.
Statement of trustees, responsibilities
Charity la￿. requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of
the stale of atTairs of the charity at the year end and of its incoming resources and resources expended during ihat year. In
preparing those financial statemenls. the trustees are required to:
select suilable accounting policies and then apply them consistently"
- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
- state whether applicable accounting standards and slatements of recommended practice have been followed subject to any
departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements- and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless il is inappropriate to presume that the charity will
continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any timc
the financial p05ltion of the charity and enable ihem to ensure that the financial slatements comply with the recognised
accounting standard. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and deiection of fraud and other i￿egular1tlc$.

out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9Xb)

My examination included a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented
with those records. It also included considerdlion of any unusual items OT disclosures in the accounts, and seeking

Accounting policies
Accountlng convention
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities pr¢paring their accounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective l January 2021)
(Charities SORP (FRS 102)) and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
(FRS 102). These are the a5sociarion's first set of financial statements prepared in accordance with FRS 102.
There have been no transitional adjustments made. Fivemil¢town Development Association meets the definition
of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
The financial statements have been prepared under Ehe historical c05t convention except for certain properties and
financial instruments that are measured at revalued amounts or fair values, as explained in the accounting policies
below. Historical cost is generally based on the fair value of the consideration given in exchange for assets.
The company has availed of the exemption in FRS 102 from the requirement to prepare a Statement of Cash
Flows because it is classified as a small charity.
1.2. Incoming resources
Voluntary income is received by way of donations and gifts and is included in full in the Stalement of Financial
Aclivities w,hen receivable. Gifts donated for resale are included as income when they are sold. Donated assets
are included ai the value to the charity where this can be quantified and a third party is bearing the cost. The
value of services provided by Voluntee￿ has not been included.
Income from investments is included in the year in which it is receivable.
IJ. Resources expended
Resources expended are recognised in the year in which they are incurred.
Support costs are those costs incurred directly in support of expenditure on the objects of the charity and include
project management.
Management and administration costs are those incurred in connection with administration of the charity and
compliance with constitutional and statutory requirements.

effective interest rate method. unless the effect of discounting would be immaterial. in which case they are stated

Other notes
Taxation
Fivemiletown Community Development Association is exempt from corporntion tax as It is a registered charity.
Foreign currencies
Monetary assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currencies are translated at the rates of exchange ruling at
the Statement of Financial Position date. Non-monetary items that are measured in ierms of historical cost in a
foreign currency are translated at the raies of exchange ruling at the date of the transaction. Non-monetary items
that are measured at fair value in a foreign currency are translated using the exchange rates al the date when the
fair value was deterniined. The resulting exchange differences are deali with in the Income Statement.
Provisions availoble for SMAII entitie5
In common with many other businesses of our size and nature, we use our accountants to assist with the
prepardtion of the fmancial statements.
Capital commitments
The association had no material capital commitments at the year end 31 March 2024
Events after the reporting period
There have been no significant events affecting the association since the year end.
