TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2020

The Trustees present their report and the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2019.

REVIEW OF THE YEAR AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS

During the year the church organised Sunday services at which good teaching enabled members and visitors to evaluate and make changes to their lives to the benefit of them, their families and the general public. We believe that a number of individuals in our Church have grown in their knowledge of Scripture and in their walk with the Lord.

2020 was very difficult for our church family like it was for all individuals because of the Covid pandemic, we moved into our new building and had our first service on 2nd February 2020, it was a most exciting time and we were totally packed out with many joining us that day to share in the celebration of how the Lord worked to bless us with a new building. Sadly in March 2020 due to the government requests, we closed the church to help stop the Covid pandemic from spreading, we later opened again in July only to close again in late December 2020.

In 2020 we as a church studied Genesis 1-11 [verse by verse] then during the Covid Lockdowns we had a conference call each Sunday and we prayed, read hymns and sermons that were topical so as to give each other encouragement in the difficult times of a global pandemic. We finished out the year with the beginning of the book of Psalms.

The Church was unable to run groups aimed at different age groups and interests that usually provided support and comfort to many people due to Covid lockdowns. And attendances were lower than normal each time the church reopened after various lockdowns but this was to be expected.

In July 2020 the members voted unanimously to change our church name to Derry Baptist Fellowship, as we felt it better reflected the area of our church and the community which we serve as servants of Jesus Christ.

FINANCIAL REVIEW.

Registered with The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland No. NI101124

The Trustees have considered carefully the future expenditure of the Church for the next twelve months. They believe that the regular giving of friends and members of the Church will continue to at least their current levels.

RISK REVIEW

The leadership team has conducted its own review of the major risks to which the charity is exposed and systems have been established to mitigate those risks.

THE TRUSTEES give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Church as at the balance sheet date and of its incoming resources and application of resources, including income and expenditure for not only the financial year but every quarter.

Approved by the Trustees on 13/01/2021 and signed on their behalf
