## **EXIT DOES THEATRE ANNUAL MONITORING RETURN 2022-23** 

Charities Commission Northern Ireland Annual Monitoring Return for period 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023. 

## _**1. ACHIEVEMENTS & PERFORMANCE**_ 

The period under review coincided with the removal of Covid 19 restrictions, the group as a result could meet more normally. Funding for groups came back on stream, and the group applied for funding to run a drama workshop based in The Ardhowen Theatre. The groups application was approved and the workshop completed successfully.

## _**2.3 Financial Management and Reserves Policies**_ 

Exit Does Theatre has a Financial Management Policy which meets the requirements of the Charities Act 2011, the Charity Commission guidelines ‘Internal Financial Controls for Charities’ and the accounts have been prepared in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) issued on 16 July 2014 and the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011 and UK Generally Accepted Practice as it applies from 1 January 2015.

## **5. Structure, Governance, and Management** 

- i. Governing Document and Constitution Exit Does Theatre is an unincorporated association and is governed by a constitution adopted in 1 April 2014 

- ii. Trustee Selection and Management 

   - Exit Does Theatre is managed by an Executive Committee which consists of all the appointed trustees. The Executive Committee meets typically once per month. 



## **6. Objectives and Activities** 

## _**Charitable Objects**_ 

The object of Exit Does Theatre as set out in our Constitution is are to advance education and promote arts and culture, in particular the performing arts, by: 

- i. Carrying out research into performing arts and to record, document and showcase  / develop it in an effort to preserve its unique aspects and so as to further its development and its relevance to the cultural heritage of the sector. 

- ii. Educating people in an effort to encourage awareness and appreciation for the visual arts in N. Ireland through the presentation of exhibitions performances, lectures, workshops, classes and the provision of resources. 

- iii. Encouraging the people of the border region of Fermanagh and the hinterlands and any other interested members of the general public to learn and practice all aspects of the performing arts.

The trustees of Exit Does Theatre confirm that they have complied with their duty under section 17 (5) of the Charities Act 2011 to have regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit and that the public benefit requirement has informed the activities of the Society in the year to March 31[st] 2023
