These benefits are demonstrated through feedback from pupils, parents (past and present), school governors and locai residents.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
With continuing financial pressures on our schools, it became apparent to the PTA that it was needed to think of new and innovative ways to raise much needed funds for the school; for the provision educational resources; and to keep the high spirit and morale of the school and the community.
The PTA consistently recognised the success of previous school discos, which were measured not only by their financial contributions but also by their positive impact on the school's community profile and atmosphere. Consequently, the PTA organised two discos during the school year: one in October and another in April. These events raised £543.33 and £717.55 respectivelyfor school funds and were thoroughly enjoyed by teachers, staff, PTA members, and children alike.
The Winter Fair in December has always beena significant fundraising event on the Riverdale PTA school calendar. This year, it was once again a resounding success, not only raising £3,377.87 in funds but also invigorating the community spirit of Riverdale Primary School among parents, teachers, children, and the local community.
In February 2025, the PTA was delighted to receive a generous donation of £406.98 from Alphagraphics. This contribution was raised through a Class Fundraising initiative held the previous October, where pupils’ creative artwork was transformed into a stunning collection of keepsake products and gifts for families.
Building on this success, an additional £88.51 was received in March 2025 through the Parentkind ASDA CashPot initiative. Parentkind—a charity committed to supporting school PTAs—has partnered with Asda to launch the ‘Cashpot for Schools’ programme, which is making millions of pounds available to primary schools across the UK.
These generous contributions have made a meaningful impact on our ongoing projects and initiatives.

In March, the PTA hosted a Bingo Evening for parents at a local rugby club. The aim was to organise an event that would appeal to both current and former Riverdale parents, while also increasing the PTA's visibility. The Bingo Evening was a great success, raising £440.00.
In June, Riverdale Primary School celebrated its 25-year anniversary with a vibrant Summer Fete. The event was a resounding success, drawing enthusiastic support from parents, grandparents, teachers, children, and the local community. It provided a fun and entertaining evening for all, while also recognising the significant contributions the school has made over the past quarter-century. The PTA played a crucial role in making this celebration possible, incurring a significant cost of £2,068.37 to fund the various activities and ensure the event's success. The pre-event ticket sales through School Money app raised £2,610. This has been retained in the school fund account and not been transferred to PTA or included in the accounts produced.
The PTA supported the school's book fair by providing helpers and organised refreshment stalls at the school sports day in June, raising £734.90 and £331.02 respectively.
A total of £8,577.49 was raised during the academic year, enabling the PTA to make substantial donations to the school this term. This included £4,000 for school iaptops and £6,000 for schoolbooks for multiple year groups. In total, the PTA donated £10,000 to the school for educational resources this year.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The PTA bank account was at a healthy state at the beginning of the academic year with £9,495.40 in
reserves.
During the year the reserves increased through various activities with a total fundraising effort of £8,577.49.
The value of the donations was more than the monies raised from fundraising, the PTA account also incurred charges from the bank and for their Parentkind subscription. The PTA bank account was £4,685.72 at year end. This amount was £4,809.68 less than the initial balance, taking into account the significant donations that the school had received.
It should be noted there was a further £2,610 raised through School Money app as pre-event ticket sales for 25 Year Celebrations which have not been transferred to PTA or included in the accounts produced.
