All Salnts, Parish Church Antrim Trustee￿ Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2022 Icontinuedl Herita All Saints, Parish Church in Antrim was built in 1596 and has been described by Dr Paul Larmour, one of Ireland's leading architectural historians, as the finest example of an Elizabethan Gothlc church in Ireland. The church building continues to be the central focu5 for any major acts of civic worship, the most recent being Service of commemoratlon following the death of Queen Ellzabeth I l in September 2022, at which the mayor and representatives of the Council attended. AlthouEh the physical bullding is over 425 years old and has been the focal point in the lives of $0 many people, we are grateful that it contlnues to be a place where the living stones, the disciples of Jesus, still come to worship and receive thelr spiritual guidance and direction. We take seriously ovr duty with regards the safe keeplng of parish records and items of historical interest. and these can be vlewed on request by Interested parties. In concluslon, All Saints, 15 a thriving and vibrant church, wlth an industrious clergy team and church services well attended. The parish is In a sound flnancial position, and this report alms to cover examples of the activities of life and worship that goes on in the church enabled by a wide range of volunteers. Our link5 wlth local churches help to ensure the Christian religion continues to thrive throughout the Antrim area. Antrlm was once statlstlcally Northern Ireland's, most sectarian town. Thankf ully, through the lead of several local churches including All Salnts, initiatives such as the Borough's Community Safety Partnership and the Civic Forum (which dealt with flags and emblems issues), the town is a more settled area and incidents of a sectarian nature have diminished. The clergy and parishioners wlthln the town continue to meet regularly and the Good Friday Walk of witness's impact has not dwindled after a period of almost twenty years and two years of Covld. This year, even with Covld restrictlons not allowing us to visit the Inside of our churches along the walk, we had upwards of 300 people 8ather in the Castle Gardens at the end of our walk. We appreciate the tremendous efforts of our clerBY and acknowledge how they strive to keep pushSng forward and developln8 ways to attract more people of all ages Into followin8 the way of Christ. statement as to dlsclosure to our examlner5 In so far as the trustees are aware at the timing of approving our trustees, annual report: therels no relevant information of which the Independent Examiner is unaware- and the tTU5tees have taken all steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves aware of any relevant information and to establish that the charity's independent examiner is aware of that information.
