The trustees presenl their report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024. The Trust is a charitable
ompany limited by guarantee and accepted as a charity by HM Revenue and Customs under reference
X042994.
The financial statements have been prepared in ac¢ordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the
financial statements and comply with the charity's governing document. the Companies Act 2006 and
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Slatement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing
their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
(FRS 1021 (as amended by "Amendments lo FRS 102 - Triennial Review

Objectives and activities
The charity's objects are to promole the benefil of the inhabitants of Faughanvale and its surrounding areas, to
provide day care to the elderty, young physically disabled. people with learning disabilities and mental health
problems, as well as recrealion and leisure facilities in the interests of social welfare and education and Ihere has
been no change in these during the year.
The Gharities main activities are day care and Moving On Pro9rammes. The weekly activiti0$ in the day centrè
are essential skills - En91ish, Maths. educational. work experience, inlroduction to business activities, arts and
crafts, cookery, drama workshops. environmental programmes, leisure activities and outings to places of inlerest.
The charity also provides freshly made meals to all the Ljsers of the service.
Public Benefit
The objectivcs of the Trust are as listed abov•. The Trust has considered the UK C.hArity Commission's
guidanrE on public benefit and plans to ensure that il provides public benefit and achieves its objectives as Set
out in the Trust's Mernorandum and Articles of Association.

The Irustees give careful consideration to accessibility for all without discrimination on grounds of politics,

The Trustees have also taken cognisance of the UK Charity Commission's Guidance on Public Benefit and plans
to ensure that this is achieved within our objectives as set out in the Trust's Memorandum and Articles of
Association. To further this, Faughanvale Community Project has extended its range of contact and invitation to
the wider EglinlonlGreysteel community lo engage in FCP activities, entertainment, in-house training for our staff
and service users and work experien￿. This is increasingly being taken up and benefits the wider community
and service users in terms of wider social integration beyond the cenlre and fafflily. The nature of such
involvement includes-.

Diversional activities
Planned outings
The public benefit sought is attained through working in partnèrship wth various statulory and educalional
bodies, social enterprises, voluntary agencieslgroups, businesses and schools.

Businesses provide work experience for our Moving On Programme. They also participate in planned adivtties
including our 'out of hours, entertainments such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. The businesses are..
Nicholl Fuel Oils,. Nicholl Supermarket,- Braidwater Enterprises., Hogg & Mtlchell Enterprises., W J O'Brien & Son,
Funeral Directors,. Alec Orr Motors.
The opportunity for work experience support5 public benefft. The Se￿￿ users are In￿easinglY contributing
within the communty through their increased involvement with the above and the training opportunities available
in FCP thus lending to the public benefit.
Achievements and perfonnance
During the financlal year to 31 March 2024 Faughanvale Community Project continued to achieve its objective to
provide day care to the elderly and disabled. The centre was able to provide care 3 days per week to a number
young disabled persons, people with leaming difficulties and the Elderty.
Faughanvale Communty Project also provided meals on wheets throughout the full year, servrcing 40 people per
day, 4 days per wèek.
A luncheon club was held one day per week when up to 10 people from the lotsl community join our servi
users for lunch and entertainment.
Financial review
The resutts for the year are set out on page 7.
Total incoming resources for the year were £169,616 (2023 £164,266) of which 860A was generated from
Westem Trust contracts.
Total reSoUr￿S expended were £177,540 (2023 - £184.818) of which 100.kn was expended on direct charitable
activities.
The balance of total fvnds at the year end was £210.216 of which £109,932 was unrestricted, £2,679 was
restricted and £97.605 was designated in nature.
Reserves policy
11 is the policy of the charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained at a level equivalent to behveen three and six month's expendrture. The trustees considers that
reserves at this level will ensure that. in the evenl of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the
charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in whith addttional funds may be raised. This level
of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.
The Trust aims to continue to increase its reserves to ensure the stsbilty of its serVi￿s, employmenl and
everyday operations of the organisation.
The trustees have assessed the major rÈsks to which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
place to mitlgate exposure to the major risks.

Structure, governance and management
The charity is a company limited by guarantee and accepted as charitable by HMRC under reference X042994.
The company was incorporated on 30 November 2003 and is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of
Association.

Recruitment and appointment of Trustees
The Charity Trustees are also Directors of the company. A Truslee is initially elected by the Board in accordance
with the Memorandum and Articles of Association. Under thè rèquirements of thÈ Mèmorandiim and Articles of
Association unless otherwise determined by the company in a General Meeting, the number of Truslees shall not
be less than three.
In the financial year no new Trustees were appointed and none resigned. The Board as a whole was approved
by the AGM and continues to monitor its membership.
None of the trustees has any beneficial interest in the company. All of the truslees are members of the company
and guaranlee to contribute £1 in the event of a winding up.
The Board of trustees which administers the Trust meets throughout the year as required.

The trustees, who are a150 the directors of Faughanvale Comrnunty Project Limited for the purpose of company
law, are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with
applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Ac¢ounling
Practi￿>.
Company Law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and
fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources. including
the income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that year.
In p￿parIng these financial ststements, the trustees are required to:

- observe Ihe methods and principles in the Charities SORP:
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent-, and

We report to the trustees on our examination of the financial ststements of Faughanvale Communty Project
Limited (the charity) for the year ended 31 March 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the charity (and also its directors for the purposes of company law) you are responsible for
the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006
(the 2006 Act).
Having satisfied ourselves that the financial statements of the chartty are not required lo be audited under Part
16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, we report in respect of our examination of the

Accounting policies
Charity information
Faughanvale Communty Project Limtted is a private company limited by guarantee in¢orporated in Northem
Ireland. The registere(J office is Unit 11- 16 Vale Centre, Clooney Road, Greysteel, Londonderry, BT47 3GE.
1.1 Accounting convention
The financial statements have been prepared in accordan￿ wtth the charity's governing document, the
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 "The Finanaal Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of
Ireland. (°FRS 102? and the Chartties SORP 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
ReLoiTiiwiended Practi￿ appIl￿ble to chartlles preparing Iheir accounts In accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 2019). The
charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The chartty has tsken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a Stslement of
Cash Flow5.
The finan¢ial statements are prepared in steding, which is the fundional currency of the ¢harty. Monetary
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting
policies adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity
has adequate resources to continue in operational exislence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Chantable funds
Unrestricted fvnds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in fvrtherance of their charitable
objectives.
Designated funds comprise funds whith have been set aside at the discretion of the Trustees for specific
purposes.
Restricted funds are subject to specnlc conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted funds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the chartty is legally entitled to rt after any perfomance condrtions have been met,
the amounts can be measured reliably. and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donalions are recognised once the charity has been notified
of the donation, unless performanrE conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable in
relation to donations re￿iVed under Gifi Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time of the donation.
Investment income represents bank interest re￿1vable during the year.
Incoming resources from charitable activities consists of income generated from day ￿ntre activities held at
the centre during the year.
1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to make a payment to a third party, rt
is probable that settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure on charilable activities indudes the costs of seNices undertaken to further the purposes of the
charity and their associated support costs.

1.6 Tangible fixed assets
Tangible fixed assets are inilially measured at ¢ost and subsequently measured at Cost or valuation, nel of
depreciation and any impairment losses.
Depreciation is recognised so as to V￿rte off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over their

The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference be￿eefi the sale proceed$
and the carrying value of the assel, and is recognised in the statemenl of finanGial activities.
1.7 Impaimient of fixed assets
At each reporting end date, the Charity reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible assets to determine
whether there is any indication thal those assets have suffered an impairmenl loss. If any such indication
exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is eslimated in order to determine the exlent of the impairment
Ios5 (if any).
1.8 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents indude cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid
investments wilh original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in current liabililies.
1.9 Financial instruments
The charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Finanaal Instruments, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the charitys balan￿ sheet when the charity becomes party to the
¢onlractual provisions of the inslrument.
Financial assets and liabililies are offset, with the net amounts presented in the finanual statements, when
there is a legally enforceable righl to sel off the recognised amounts and there is an intenlion to settle on a nel
basis or to realise Ihe asset and settle the liability simultaneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial asset5, which include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at
transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequentty carried at amortised cost using the effeclive
interest method unless Ihe arrangement constitute5 a financing transaction, where the transaction is
measured at the present value of the future re￿ipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets
classified as receivable within one year are nol amortised.

Basic financial liabilities
Basic financial liabiltties, induding credttors and bank loans are initially recognised at transaction price unless
the arrangement con51itutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present
value of the future payments discounted at a market rate of interest. Finanaal liabilities classified as payable
within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequenuy carried at amortised cost, using the effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligalirtrn% to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in thc ordinary course of
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are dassified as cu￿ent liabiltties rf payment is due within one
year or less. If nol, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade credilors are recognised initially at
transaction pri￿ and subsequentty measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
Derecognition of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities arÈ dp_rp_cJ)gnised when tho charitys contractual obligations expire or are di8charged or
cancelled.
1.10 Taxation
The company is a charity and is recognised as such by HM Revenue & Customs under the charity tax
reference X04994. As a result. therè is no liabilty to taxation on any of its income.
1.11 Employee benefits
The cost of any unused holiday entrtlement is recognised in the period in which the employee's services are
received.
Termination beneffts are ￿COgniSed immediatety as an expense when the charity is demonstrably committed
to terminatè the employmant of an èmployee or to promde termination benefits.
1.12 Retirement benefits
Payments to defined contribution retirement benefrt schemes are charged as an expense as they fall due.
Critical accounting estimates and judgements
In the application of the charitys accounting policies, the trustees are required to make judgements, estimates
and assumptions about the carying amount of assets and liabiltties that are not readily apparent from other
sources. The estimates and assoualed assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that
are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The estimates and underfying assumptions a￿ reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that
period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
periods.
