On 11 February 2002 a fir6 at the bulldlng led to the death of 2 of Ihe hoslel regklents. Th8 fire also rtsnde￿d Ihe hostel promlses ijnvsable. The Momlng Star Hostél wa6 wlthout premises untm 28 July 2004 when the current hostel opened. The hostel 18 o refwe for homeless men, many of whom have a hi810ry of rough sleeping and alrnhol or substance mlsuse and frequenlly prosenl ¢hall6nglng behavlour.
