TOBERMORE COMMUNITY PROJECTS DIRECTORS. REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2023 The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2023. Background The purpose of Tobemiore Communlty Projects is to promote the benefit of Inhabltants of the Tobremore and district area in terms of advancing education, and to provide facllities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation or other leisure other leisure time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of lrfe for the said inhabitants. Structure, govornance and management The organisation is a charitable association. The associatlon was established under a Constitutlon which established the aims and objectives of the charitable association. Tobermore Community Projects has a cr08S•communlty focus and Is managed by a voluntary committee which is elected annually. The appointment of committee is in accordance with the Charitls Constitution, whereby each member will be entitled to nominate one person only In wrltlng not less than seven days before the date of the Annual General Meeting. The management of the committee is overseen by the Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. the commlttee meets regularly throughout the year and hold an AGM once a year. ObJectlve8 and actlvltles The objects of the charity are.. To promote the benefit of the Inhabltants of the Tobermore and dlstrlct ar6a of Co Londonderry and its envlrons (hereinafter described as "the area of benefit") without dlstinction of age, sex, race, political rellglous or other opinion by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance educab'on, and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare, for recreation or other lelsure time occupatlon with the object of Improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. To establish or to secure the establishment of 8 Community Centre (hereinafter called 'Yhe Centre") and malntsln it and to manage to c operate with local statutory authority in the maintenance and managemant of such a Centre for activities promoted by the Projects and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects. Provide or secure the provision of social servlces, educational and recreational facilities and practlcal asslstance for elderly and disabled people within the area of benefit. Promote and carry out, or assist in promoting and carrying ot research, surveys and investigations and publish the useful results thereof. Organise or asslst In organislng meetlngs, lectures, classes and exhibitions and publish or assist in publishing reports, periodicals, recordings, books or other documents or infomiation. Obtain collect 8nd recelve money by way of grants, donations, bequests, legacies or other lawful method. provided that the Projects may not engage in any form of pemianent trading. Purchase, take on lease or in exchange, hire or otheN4ise acquire any real or personal property and any rights and privileges necessary for the promotion of the above objects and construct, maintain and alter any buildings or erections which the Projects may think necessary for the promotlon of its objects. Recruit and train volunteers with relevant skills to carry out the objects of the Project8. Employ and pay any person or persons, not belng a member of the management Committee referred to below ('Yhe Committee") to supervise, organise and carry on the work of the Projects and make all reasonable and ne￿sSary provision for the payment of remuneration to employee. Promote and organise Copoperatlon in the achievement of the above objects and to that end to work in association y￿th local authorities and voluntary originations engaged in the furtherance of the above objects in benefit.

TCP were able to purchase new Christmas tree lights for the small trees along Main Street through an Increase in fundlng from the Mid Ulster District Council and Tobemiore Business Developments Ltd. MCKINNEY HALL The McKinney Hall is a great facility within the village however due to COVID 19 and the restrictlons it has not been used as much as we would like. The hall was put to great use at the start of the p8nd8mic to deliver food parcels. The hall has an approx overhead of £3,200 per annum therefore fundraising and funding for the hall is essential. INe have been fortunate this year by receiving funding from Mid Ulster District Council for the hall. We should remain to focus on utilising tho hall as much as we can as It Is a great hall wlthln Tobermore. The hall has been fumished with new chalrs and we would Ilke to thank DAERA for their funding to enable thls to happen. New Ilght8 both Internal and extern81 where instslled thanks to fundlng from Mid Ulster District Council. WAR MEMORIAL A committee has been set up to manage the villages War Memorial. The surplus money from the War memorial collectlon has been transferred into a separate bank account and will be used to upkeep the War memorial into the future. Flnanclal revlew The committee will contlnu8 to conduct annual revlevts of the approprlat8 level of unrestrfcted reserves. The purpose of this reserve is to provide stability for tha charity to ensure that it is able to honour exlsting contractual obligations, to cover unforeseen events beyond the organisation's control and to enable It to continue Its operations In the unlikely event of a significant fluctuation in expendlture or income. The committee alm to build reseNes to at least 3 months of annual expendtture. Thls may be achleved by Increased fund raislng, increasing earned income or reducing expenditure. The present level of r888rve8 avallable to the charity is £38,596 which 18 deemed satisfactory. In preparing th08e financial statements. the committee are required to.. select suitable accountlng pollcies and then apply them conslstently; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that Tobemiore Community Projects will continue In business. The committee are responslble for keeplng proper accounting records whlch disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of Tobermore Community Projects and to enable the committee to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Constitutlon. The commlttee are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of Tobermore Community Projects and hence for tsking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other Irregularities.
