Activities

The objects of the Charity shall be to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of women and their children resident in the North Down and Ards area (the “area of benefit”) in order to improve the conditions of their lives regardless of religious belief, race, ethnicity, sexuality, income, age and physical ability and in particular to:- (1) Advance education and training through the delivery of programmes, courses, initiatives, mentoring and guidance in order to: (a) enhance transferable skills and educational attainment; (b) foster personal development, confidence and capacities; (c) prepare participants for training and employment opportunities. (2) To provide, maintain and develop a community and resource centre for women. (3) To promote health and well-being among women by providing a confidential atmosphere where women can receive support, advice and guidance and be signposted. (4) Promote peace and reconciliation, community engagement and cohesion, capacity for leadership and equality and diversity. (5) Provide family support services to children of school age. (6) Enhance the development and education of young children, and enable their mothers or carers to participate in educational, training or other activities, by offering appropriate daycare facilities. (7) Provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure time occupations with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said residents. (8) Advance community development by providing help, support and facilities to community and voluntary groups based in the area of benefit. (9) To promote, facilitate and organise co-operation and partnerships between community and voluntary organisations and public and statutory bodies and agencies.
