Even though this is a smaller group of voices, they have demonstrated impressive musical ability. singing more advanced arrangements. They have perforn]ed at various events both locally and fillther afield, always to much acclaim. In 2022 the choir were able to raise £ 8,500 towards their ongoing projeth to build a school in Malawi. This is a considerable achievement which has paid great dividends towards building the confidence and self esteem of these young people, mY of whom have 5uff¢red mentally during the isolatlOD of the pandemic. It is our hop¢ that we as a choir community continue to be a positive influence in the lives of vu]nerabl¢ children from every sector of society, both here and abroad. We hope to continue to remiit new members through our presentations at concerts and by Énvitation from existing members. Public bene]It Raise the Roof (NI) continues to seek to promote, improve and maintan the appreciation of Children's Christian choral rnu5ic within Ballymena and its environs, by providing children from diverse backgrounds Mith musical training and tbe OppOrtLity to take part in performances and other events. It promotes intemational liai50ns with visting choirs, and hopes to advanc¢ UcatiOn and foster a ChTtstian ethos by fi]nding the building and equipping of schools for vun¢rable children in Afric& Raise the Roof wntinued to meet each week for rehearsals ond this has proved a very positive perIenCe for our teenagers, building community and growing iti a sense of shared athievement as they seek to help vu]nerable children in Africa. Company law requires the trustees to prepare fmancial statements for each financial year. Under company law the trnstees must not approve the financial statements unless they are satisfied that they give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources. including its income and expenditure, of the charitable company for that period. tn preparing these fmancial statements. the tru5tee5 are required to: selert suitable accounting policies and apply theuj wnsistently. observe the methods and principle5 in the Charities SORP. make judgements and estimates that are re&8onable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards, comprising FRS 102 have been followe(L 5ubje¢t to any material departures disclosed and explain¢d in the financiaI statements. and prepare the fllW]cial statements on the going concern basis unles5 it is inappropriate to Presume that the charitable company will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that can disclose r¢asonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charitable company and enable them to ensure that the fmancial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006and Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The trustees are responsible for th¢ maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial inforniation included on the charitable company's website.
