In 2023-2024 Young Farmers. Clubs of U15tei IYFCUI introduced Cultivating Young Leaders prograrnme,
designed to empowèr and educate Membe￿ aged between 18 and 30 of which 16 young comF4oted.
Child Protection TTaining
Child protection training continues to a prsoryty for the Associalion. During 202￿2024 a lolal of 146
members look part in Ihe Saleguarding training_
As part of aur chSld protection straicgy. Ihe YFCU continucs to ensure that staff. key elected officials and
voILJnleersl tranws are ched(ed through Access Nl. All members. parents and Offi￿ bearers are provided
with access to the Association's child protection pJlicie5 and procedures.
External Scheme
YFCU conlinLes to be a centre for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Sc*eme. th￿ gr￿ill9 our member5 the
opportunity lo tske part in thi5 thallenging aNJ hvJhly rewar¢ling youth developmenl sxograrnrne. This year. WÈ
had 10 mernbers achieve Iheir bronze awards. 13 members athieved Iheir silver award and 15 gdd award
recipients.
Financial review
As in previ¢)us years the Asswalton's eore funding s from grants, provided by Educalion Authority {EA) and
Oepathent of Agriculture, Environment and Affaits IDAERA). In addition to grants. rnonies a￿ raised frot
donations, sw)nsorship, membership and compebt1￿ foes.
This year there was an decrease in in(X￿8 or £67.56512023: Increase of £121.5571. Overall the Accounts show
a surplus before revaluation of properties of £121.980 {2023.- surplus £193.6211. A Headquarters surplus of
£13,523 15 recorded lindudes erKlowment surplus). The principles of 'besl value. and 'added value. ci)nlinue to
be applied to all expendilure and actiw,ties undertaken.
It is the policy of the A55ociation that unrestriGted funds which have not been designaled a specific usè

The Young Famerfs Clubs of Ulsler (YFCUI is a charitstrAe company limiied by guarantee, inujrporatod on
1 sl Novernber 1957 and regrstered as a charity on 6th February 1967 the Inland Revenup.. On the 23id
February 2015 YFCU registered W[￿ the Charty Commission for Northem Ireland. The company was
established urmdw a Memorandum of Association whith Sel up the 0tr4ects and [￿wOr5 of the charitable
company and 15 govemed under ils Articles of Assock￿lon which were revised al the AGM in 2017. In the
event ot the company being wound up. member5 are required kn ttjntribule an amount not exceeding £1.

The Chief Executive oificer ICEOI is appointed by the Execijl ve Cotnmittee lo manage the day-to4ay
operalians of the A550ciation and superyision of the staff team.
Meft7bers elect8d to the Association's Executive attend thè Executive Board training iveekend each year to
familiarise Ihemselves with aims of the Assotial.'on and theii role. their rE5ponsibilities and Ihoir duties as
directors. These events are jointly led by the Chair of the Execubve Cotntnittee and the CEO.
Over the last few year5 these residenb.al evenis have covered arp.as SLJch as governance, directors, duties,
policies. communication. finance. departmentsl priorities. strategic planning and have involved internal and
exlEriial speakers. The content is reviewed annualy inline wth strategic need skill sel shortages.
