The trustees and officers did not receive any payments during the period. Governance The Group is governed by its Constitution and Rules, copies of which are available from the Chairperson. The Group is constituted as an association. The Trustees were appointed by the Committee. Objectives and Activities Friends of Stewartstown Primary School I'the Group") was formed in September 2013 to help the school staff by supporting them in organising activities and events, and raising funds to help the whole school community. The Group received charitable status in December 2014. Objects l. To relieve poverty, sickness and the aged, and to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the district and surrounding area of Stewartstown and its environs, without distinction of age, gender, race, political, religious or other opinion 2. To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure- time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants. 3. To preserve our history and heritage for all. 4. To act as a charity, raise money for charity and organise events to raise funds for Stewartstown Primary School 5. To establish or to secure the establishment of a Community Centre Activities In the current financial period, the following fund-raising events have taken place. Friends of Stewartstown Primary School Report and Accounts For the year ended 31 March 2023 Report of the Trustees (cont'd) Achievements and Performance The main achievement of the Group during the year was advancing the education of the children of Stewartstown PS, by making donations, so that resources can be purchased that aren't available otherwise. Financial Review All monies raised by or on behalf of the Group shall be applied to further the objects of the Group, and for no other purpose, except for legitimate out-of-pocket expenses to members of the Group, engaged upon the approved business of the Group. The Group raised £12,816 during the year to 31 March 2023 {2022: £3,702), and had associated expenses of £14,928 (2022,. £2,719). Cash donations to the school were £1,632 during the period 12022.. £963), and donations via equipment and other resources were £12,196 {2022: £1,682). Preparation of Accounts The accounts were prepared using the cash basis. Accounts are for the 12 months to 31 March 2023. The comparatives are for the 12 months to 31 March 2022. Basls of Independent examinerfs report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission for Northem Ireland under section 65 (9) (b) of the Charities Act. My examination included a review of the accounting. records kept by. the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as charity trustees conceming any such matters. My role is to state whether any material matters have come to my attention giving me cause to 1. That accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 63 of the Charities Act 2.
