Annual Report 2021-2022
New Life Ministries (NLM) is a faith based organisation promoting Christian beliefs and providing care and support for those in conditions of need or distress. This document sets out an overview of the activity of NLM from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2022 .
Structure
NLM is organised as a charitable trust with three trustees who also form part of the leadership team. Meetings take place on a regular basis where discussions concerning future activities and funding arrangements are held. NLM is affiliated with Plumbline Ministries Ireland( charity 20154639) which operates across the whole island of Ireland .
New Life Fellowship
New Life Fellowship is our principle means of promoting the work we do . Starting out as a house church in 1994 , it has evolved over the years, currently renting a property (Stripes) in Lurgan , Co Armagh where it meets .Those who partnered with NLM met regularly on Sunday mornings for worship , teaching and friendship . Many enjoyed the informal nature of the meetings which always provided ample time for discussion and reflection over tea and coffee. Sunday lunches were also held quite regularly during the year , to celebrate key events in the Christian calendar, and to bless visiting ministries , whilst also providing an excellent way to invite friends and those interested in our work. A WhatsApp group with many members of the fellowship has proved invaluable as a means of contact, friendship , and support.
Care and Support India
In 2021-2022 NLM continued to raise funds to support several orphanages in India. We partner with David Chaudhary Ministries (UK charity 326436) who provide a home and education for children. We have specifically sponsored a child's education through to college/further education , and continue to help support many widows and other ongoing projects .
Support
NLM has financially and prayerfully supported several ongoing ministries and appeals for aid . These include provision of hampers at Christmas , a donation to a local church-based charity which provides hot meals to those in need , supporting Tearfund NI’s Christmas appeal focusing on Ethiopia, Lebanon and Yemen. In addition, others included Care4Calais helping with their work with the Afghan refugees crisis , and Highways & Byways mission helping to fund a lorry of Ukraine Aid . We have loved to bless visiting speakers and ministries not only with a buffet lunch but a small financial gift to support their ongoing work.
Collaboration
NLM partners with Plumbline Ministries Ireland , appreciating their oversight and support. This helps NLM to benefit from the input and perspective provided at an all island level ,and also in UK mainland through Plumbline Ministries UK . A few day conferences took place organised by Plumbline Ministries Ireland ( charity no 20154639) this year , including visits in between by Trevor and Diane Hill from Athlone , allowing NLM to connect with other Plumbline partners throughout the island of Ireland. We appreciate the on going ministry of Rhema Fellowship, Newry and especially Robert & Rosemary McAuley (Inspire) , who have blessed us with monthly visits .
